First, hope everyone had and will have a great holiday/s. On to the issue:

Car is a 95 talon awd. The previous owner did many silly things I've been straightening out in order to get the car ready for tuning (I am going the evo8 ecu route since I owned one and am more familiar with ecuFlash). One of things I noticed was a partial emissions delete. The car has a boost and vacuum gauge connected directly to the intake manifold. The FPR solenoid doesn't seem to exist but it doesn't really matter as I've put an AFPR in place anyway.

Problem is the car is throwing a P0443 CEL code and I don't see the solenoid. But here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...cuum-diagram-removal-1g-2g.html#post152901120 it shows the Purge Control Solenoid eliminated. Am I reading the diagrams wrong or is there a trick to the CEL not showing up.

I know this topic has been covered a lot but I'm really confused here.

I'll try to get a photo tomorrow but the issue is I think its either unplugged or non-existent. Would it be worth replacing the solenoid if it is gone or just wipe the code with programming software?

I mean if you can wipe it do it. Otherwise go to the junkyard and grab one off a car and plug it in. It should take care of the CEL

Get rid of the CEL if you can, but if you can't, get a new FP solenoid and plug it in to get rid the code. The FP solenoid is not really useful anyway. This is the connector:

Err right but the code is for the purge control valve circuit not the fpr.

I may just find one and plug it in though I plan to go through with the rest of the emissions delete.

Yeah, P0443 is the code for EVAP circuit malfunction. There is (or was) a similar solenoid on the firewall to control the EVAP purge valve. Disconnecting it can obviously throw a code, but the only fix I'm aware of is hooking it back up. It doesn't need the vacuum lines, it just needs to be connected. I'm not sure if Evoscan can hide CEL's or not. If so I would just do that.

But in case you decide to rip one out of the junkyard or something, this is what your looking for:

Thanks guys! I'll take a look tomorrow as I'm not using the car tonight. Cops seem to love my car so we're taking my GF's car out tonight, not taking chances. Pretty sure that solenoid long gone on my car but shouldn't be hard to find. Do NTs use the same emissions setup?

No they dont. You can find them on a few mitsu models like most 1gs, galants and diamantes. Not to mention all 2g turbo models. I deleted my emissions a while ago and still have my purge valve if you need it.

Save up ecmlink get that all cleared up with a nice tune.:thumb: Then you can rip off all them lines and plug wires. get a egr block off and cap off the 3 nipples on the intake. Its not going to effect anything while driving.
