When I purchased my talon the e brakes did not work and
I'm trying to get the car up and running by my 19th birthday
In June so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found an article on here about how to do this but it seems
To have lost the links to the pictures
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...rake-cable-removal-installation-write-up.html

Ok after reading this my first question is should I have drum brakes?
Because I don't...

I think he's asking whether he has drum-inside-disk rears, because the issue is the e-brake. The answer is: he does.

I'm just trying to figure out if this guide pertains to me
So how do I go about fixing the brakes is the cable broken
I took the center section out where the e brake lever is and
It's really loose past the point of adjustment...

It might be the cables, as they are known to seize and then break on 2Gs. But you won't know for sure until you open up the drums and look at that end, too.

You are going to have to just jack the car up and look. There are a number of things that can be wrong with it.

Your 95 Tsi will have both in the rear, it has disks for the normal brakes, and drum for your parking brakes.

Thanks was getting a little confused when people were saying drum
I have taken my rear wheels off prior and dident
Know where to start I will give it another try tomorrow and possiably
Get some pictures up thanks for the help.

I understand what your talking about now There is a space behind the rotor the bolts on the Caliper are really on there I wasn't having much luck I sprayed them with PB blaster and try to get a braker
Bar in there tomorrow.

OK I removed the rotor to find the e-brake cable hanging there not sure where its supposed to attach I garbed it and it just fell off as you can see it the one picture how do i remove the rest of the cable and is there a mitsu. part number for this?
EDIT: am I missing something I don't seem to have e brake shoes...

Wow. What a mess.

As above, you need everything that goes inside the drums. You should also check to see if the cables are seized. You have a lot of work to do.

Looks like someone stripped everything from your ebrake. :notgood:
These are some pics of some I just rebuilt.

Wow I'm not surprised this car was a mess when I got it
The previous owner had house wireing and speaker wire
Used for the gauges. I think I might just save it for another day
I should get it running first do you need e brake to pass NYS inspection?
Where do I buy the whole assembly? And the cables are broken.
