Hi guys, my friend that owns a '95 GST has a problem that makes us going nuts.

When he tries to datalog the TPS (throttle position) always ets 0% value, regardless of pedal position.

But if you measure the voltage on the ecu harness wirin coming from the TPS sensor you get a progresive voltage rise from close to zero to almost 5v (like it should be)

Also i sold him a set of 550cc injectors and a eeprom for his ECU with the same code i was using, but on his car he's running So rich that the car almost dies when touching the throttle pedal. He has a wideband and the a/f joes to 11 or so. All Long and short trims are negative, like -12% or so.

He also has a a weird behaviour that when trying to maintain the rpms around 1500, the engine fluctuates +-500rpms or so constantly, up and down.

I think that richness problem and fluctuations are related to the TPS problem too.

Has anybody an idea of what can be the problem?
I even let me use my own ecu and No TPS signal on the logger either.
Even with stock eprom chip and stock injectors the tps log stay at 0.
He replaced the TPS and sdjusted correctly but still no more than 0% even at WOT.

I don't know what else to look. I'm lost and he's desperate.

He also got a CEL once about the MAP sensor onthe manifold, but not shure if it has anything to do with TPS not showing any value.

Any help?

Had his wiring harness been altered in any way.. say to install a SAFC or other tuning device?

The ECU sends a 5V signal to the TPS which then is modified from near 0V to .49V dependingon throttle position. Is it possible that you are usign the wrong "plug" for the TPS? I'm not familiar with the 2Gs, but seeing that you also have a MAP Sensor CEL, are those two plugs the same in dimension? :dsm:

Hi, thanks for replying.
Hopefully everything ended being the software he was using to datalog that wasn't getting any Throttle values for some reason. (Digimoto)

He tried with scantool and then he had Throttle values again.:coy:
