i recently installed my motor in to my car it starts and all but when i rev it it sound like a wrx ......so i say "coil pack must be bad " i check it out and i was not the coil pack ! so i was like wtf I rev my car and unplugged injector 4 and 3 , ( car turns off) so im like um mm i plug it back in and start the car rev it up when running (still sounding like a wrx) at the same time i unplug injector 1and 2 , car still stays on and running so i figure it out that my car is only running on 2 cylinders

So my question is what causes my car to do that, how can i fix it???

any ideas of how can this be fixed ?

i already changed ecu, cas , resistor box and coil pack

i get spark in all 4, only those two injectors that wont fire cylinder 3 and 1
am not that good with electrical if i can get some help or advise that would be cool

thanks

That's your problem. Cylinders 1 and 4 are on the same coil, and 2 and 3 are on the other coil. Change the firing order to 1 3 4 2 and it should fix your problem.

He gets spark in all four...injectors are not firing. Check ECU pinouts i forget which ones they are.

check continuity from the two wires in the injector plug to its corrispnding pinout and the other wire to ground. Im not fully sure if the signal is sent from the ECU to the resistor pack first or if its direct ECU to plug. But one easy check is the ground.

I talked to ya about it at the BBQ yesterday...im the guy with the white 6bolt talon.

How can you be sure his injectors are not firing?

Even IF it is the injectors, his firing order is WRONG. The plugs are gonna spark no matter what, but if the wires are in the wrong order then guess what? No fuel get's ignited.

Fix the firing order FIRST then check the injectors.

hey whats up am going to try fixing the firing order if it does not work ill be calling an electrician

if i try to find those pin out ill get Impatient and mess it up :beatentodeath:

Cylinders 1 and 4 run on the left coil and cylinders 3 and 2 run on the right coil, it does not matter which wire goes in which socket as our system is a wasted spark system; meaning plugs 1 and 4 and plugs 2 and 3 fire at the same time but when plug 2 may be igniting fuel plug 3 is wasting spark since cylinder 3 may be on an exhaust stroke or some other part of the cycle.

I am not saying your injectors are not firing, but I am saying your firing order is not right, which will cause your car to sound like a WRX since you are currently running on only two cylinders. Fix the firing order before you chase after anything else.

if you want to check your injectors, get a screwdriver and put it up to the injector, and you can hear a clicking noise when the injectors open. using a mechanic's stethoscope works wonders.

if they're opening, they're clogged.

if they're not opening, then backpin (with the positive side of a voltmeter) the dark colored wire. mine was like brown with a black stripe, or maybe black with a brown stripe. then turn the key to the on position (don't crank the car) and ground the voltmeter against the battery. you should get battery voltage.

if you don't get battery voltage, try the white wire. i'm writing this from memory and while i'm pretty sure the black wire is the +12V, there's a chance i could be wrong...

one of the wires should be +12V with the key in the "on" position... if neither of them give 12V, then check your wiring, you've got a break somewhere.

if you get 12V on one of the wires, then either your injector's fried or the ECU isn't putting out a signal. someone else might be able to help out with a way to test for signal from the ECU, the only way I know is the use of what they call a "noid light". basically it's a light you plug into the FI wiring harness and start the car. if the injector's getting signal, the light will blink.

if you're getting no signal from the ECU, that's where you need to look.

http://vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-1G.html here's pinouts for the 1G showing u where to find the wiring for the respective injectors

if you're getting signal, replace the injector. it's not working.

Dudes, his firing order is wrong. It's cool that you boys know how to check the injectors and such, but he really needs to start small then work his way up the ladder.

Did you fix the firing order yet? I would assume you have since it has been a while since you posted. What happened when you changed the firing order?
