Ok I am driving a 1998 Eagle Talon AWD 5spd, only mods are a K&N air filter, autometer gauges: A/F and boost, and a huge exhaust tip the previous owner installed.

On Wednesday night of last week I was driving, while driving (aggressively) I messed up a shift and grinded going into second (clutch wasn't engaged fully).

Within 5 minutes I went to make a U-Turn, hit my signal and waited. When my signal would flash everything else would dim considerably (interior gauges, headlights, and my stock radio would turn off)

I accidentally tapped my brights and the car started sputtering, with the gas pedal pressed in the car would lose RPMs then steady out then lose some more for about 5 seconds. During this time my CEL light came on and my Anti-lock light came on.

At this point I thought it was the alternator so I stopped using my signal and made sure I kept my cd player off and didn't hit the brights and got home. The issue didn't resurface again until this morning on the way to school. It was the exact same issue but it went away within a few minutes. Both times I had my headlights on, and my radio.

Sounds like an alternator problem. Possibly a belt slipping? It's not always accurate but you can take it to Advance Auto or Autozone and have them test it for free. But before you do that, make sure you atleast pop the hood and do an overall inspection. It could just be a belt that's being frayed away. Post back when you know more. :thumb:

Those CEL lights coming on is an indicator of a dying alternator. Same with the accessories draining power. It's happened to me twice. Take the car to Autozone and have the alternator and battery tested to be sure. They'll do it for free.

On a side note, since I was just reading about it last night, now would be a good time to upgrade to a 90A Candian alternator, if you wanted to. That's probably what I'll do next time my alternator dies.

Nah, just trying to get away with maintaining the car right now, still need to get a new clutch and rebuild the tranny (first gear is shredded). After the car is back to working order without any problems I'll hand it over to the fiancee while I go do my basic training for the Navy. When I get out I'll sell my baby and go for an Evo, want a sports car but need more room. Chances are she'll be pregnant in the next year or two :|
