I missed the cruise by 10 minutes. When is the next time you guys are meeting up? Should make it a weekly thing.

How did you miss us by ten minutes? We didn't leave Hooters until about 2:00 pm.

For the most part we do Spring and Fall meets. We also try to throw in track days whenever anyone wants to go the drag strip. The DSM scene here doesn't really warrant weekly meets, It's hard enough getting everyone together twice a year. I'd love to see more involvement and then more meets and cruises.

There was some talk today about a track day at Arroyo Seco...

I drove by and didnt see anyone. Hmm maybe you guys were hidden behind a truck???

+1 for weekly, or biweekly meets

Hi my name is Matt, i go to epcc trans mt, and im addicted to dsm's. Enough said. haha. Lets see i have a red 93 eclipse base model 1.8 thats my baby. Its taken some beatings over the years from me, so cosmetically it isnt in the greatest of condition. Mechanically it isnt either. Right now the engine in it is the first one i've ever built. With that said it runs like crap, but it runs...reliably. I've dubbed it the guinea pig engine. Big plans for that car and that platform. Then i also have a white with black top 92 eclipse gsx that i picked up a couple months ago. Its bone stock.... Been trying to get it back up to par, it was in pretty poor shape mechanically when i got it, the body is in pretty decent condition tho. I'm not sure what my plans are with that one, i do know it will be keeping the full interior, a/c, and ps. I think i may try and hit 11's with the 14b, since that seems to be quite the feat, and plus turbos are f'n expensive. I also have 2 parts cars, a 91 and 94 eclipse(fwd's). Yea i like the 1g eclipse side of dsm. The 94 i may eventually get it up and running again not sure at this point. I would like to get 1 more dsm, another 1g gsx, that way i can strip/gut the shit out of it and make it super light. I'm also addicted to driving, i cruise solo pretty much daily. So i would love to find some driving buddies, that like to drive just as much as i do.

well my oil pressure went real bad yesterday =[[ im trying to get it fixed right now ....

i hope it gets fixed ### i really wanna go

well im not making it either its my oil pump does any one have an new or remanufactered 6 bolt oil pump for sale =]

unless i buy one today ill make it LOL

I actually have one that's sitting in my office. I will bring the stuff to my house on thursday (Juan's clutch and some other parts), so just shoot me a PM if you still need/interested in getting one.

As of my short, I recently had some guy install a kill switch and apparently this is what's causing all the drama.

Weekly or bi-weekly meet will be better, that way we ensure we can atleast make it once or twice a year :p

^^^ pm sent

good to hear you found it...

i havent made it in both of the meets this year :barf:

Seems like a lot of interest in more frequent meets. We could give it a try, I'm down. In a way I think it could draw more people in, get more local guys interested in DSMs, and allow us all to get to know each other better; but its going to be hard. I know I work rotating shifts and can't commit to a set day. We would need a centralized meeting place. Its also going to be hard since we all own DSMs, we had 3 guys miss this last cruise because their car was down (mines up on jack stands at this very moment). We can give it a shot though. Let the brainstorming begin...

Dsm's demand skilled mechanics, but even so they aren't that hard to keep off of jack stands. The hardest part is trying to find parts fast enough.

The top of trans mt, or that new lowes off Montana and the loop.

Have any of you been to any of the junkyards in las cruces? Know if theres anything good out there left?

theirs junkyards in cruces????

9!'clipseDOHC...what happened to your car?

Nothing major, I just had a pesky oil leak near the oil filter housing. I found the leak (It was where I T'd in for my oil pressure gauge) and fixed it but while I was under there cleaning up oil I noticed that the inner tie rod boot was split in half and there was no grease (I've been hearing a clicking when I turn too) so I ordered a new one. I also ended up removing my washer fluid reservoir, funny how I keep finding parts I don't need :D It should be back on the road before the end of the week, I just need to find a free hour or two to change out the tie rod and get an alignment.

I've only been to one junkyard here in El Paso and it sucked (Big time!). I used to work at a junkyard in Virginia (ancient history now) that was awesome!. I've never been to any in Las Cruces.

Hey what's up guys. just woundering if anybody's had problem's with there brake light not working. mine are not working and ive check everything and replace the brake switch. if anybody can help thank's..

Good news guys! We got our own El Paso sub-forum! Check it out here: El Paso Area DSM Forum - DSM Forums. You can now post a separate thread for meets, gtgs, cruises, local help, local parts wanted, local parts for sale, etc, or any other discussions. I've been working on getting this since May so I'm glad to see it happened!

Also I've been working on my car a lot, started out as fixing an oil leak. I found 2, one where I T'd in for my oil pressure gauge (fixed) and the other between the oil cooler ring and the oil filter housing (new gasket ordered).

Also noticed that my inner tie rod boots were torn so I replaced the boots on both sides and the driver's side inner tie rod.

Also while I was at it I replaced the fuel filter with an brand new Mitsubishi one and upgraded the fuel feed with -6 AN lines (no more restrictive banjo bolt).

Then, VRSF had a sweet deal on their FMIC kit so it has been ordered and is in route as we speak! I started prepping for the install this morning, I removed my bumper and crash bar, deleted my power steering cooler, relocated my coolant overflow tank, and removed my SMIC and piping. As soon as the intercooler arrives it's ready to be slapped on!

Larry I haven't forgotten, I'm going to go check those wiring diagrams right now.
