I just installed the pro kit on my 98 eclipse gst, and it dropped it about a inch and almost a half. when i took off the stock springs, the stock shocks were no good. went to autozone and bought front pair gabriel and went to advance and bought gabriel rear shocks. are they going to mess up since the car is going to be low. the car feels stiff right now. just wondering thanks.

how long do u think they will last. and they have lifetime warranty so i think i may get them replaced

... get the lifetime alignment at firestone and a set of lifetime craftsmen impact tools and you'll be set for a lifetime of swapping out blown shocks. LOL im just kidding man. they should last awhile but most of us here don't just get springs to SLAM the car we follow them up with more handling mods like gas shocks.

yeah LOL. i should huh. well they are sensatrac shocks so does that make a differance. how many other people have done this. how long do u think they will last?? and i have not aligned my car since i dont have the money right now hopefully next monday or this weekend. but i dont drive the car that much maybe will only get a 100 miles on it this week. would it cause any harm though. and when they do the alignment do can they scratch the rims when doing it?? sorry for dumb questions but i have never done it.

OEM shocks are OEM shocks and ive never ran my car with lowering springs on stock shocks, i estimate a year or two though. maybe someone whos running their car like this can chime in?
do you have a camber kit on your car? :ohdamn: the alignment shop won't be able to do anything with it if you don't have one.
YOU DEFINITELY NEED THESE...
REAR CAMBER KIT 2G DSM (95-99)
i did the fronts on mine but usually its not necessary...
STM: SPC ADJUSTABLE BALLJOINT / FRONT CAMBER KIT | 67170

the only thing your going to find when driving your car lowered and not aligned is that it won't drive straight (for obvious reasons) and your tires aren't going to wear evenly at all.

i pulled this off of RRE website...
"We strongly recommend purchasing a quality shock absorber along with these springs. They are approximately 20% stiffer than stock. The purpose of the shock is to control the spring energy. Get more spring & you need more shock. If you are on a budget and can't afford both, get shocks only for better handling. If your only purpose is to get all the chicks & look cool with a lousy ride, get springs only."

no i do not have one but was told i might not need one at this shop wear they lift trucks and drop cars. going to align well try too tomorrow. idk if i should go to firestone or same shop that drops cars.

firestone has lifetime alignment for $150 and i get it done there once a month... usually a 4 wheel alignment is $60-$70 each time, to me the firestone lifetime one is worth it. but i also have the camber kit so they can align it.

yeah they told me they can give me that for $99 so i am going to take it in a bit..

nevermind couldn't do it. . they told me my car was to low and that they cant get it on the ramp . got me mad.. going to take it back tomorrow when i take off the front bumper. just gets me mad..

so i went and they could only align the toe not the camber. said they couldnt. do i need a camber kit?? for both?? or is it something else.

camber kit on the rear suspension for sure, i recommend doing the front while your at it.
scroll down to the "2g camber correction" window... both my front and rear camber kits are from RRE, reasonably priced and it does the job.
Road Race Engineering's Eclipse Suspension Upgrades

get used to taking your bumper off to get your car worked on at a shop. a firestone put mine up on their lift thinking it was ok and then ripped my bumper in half backing it off the lift, guess who paid for a new front bumper though... firestone. :sneaky:
