So I finished installing rear shocks and springs on my car, and the passenger side is higher than the driver side.

Question 1 - On the rear passenger side, towards which end is the bottom of the spring (opening) sitting on the shock supposed to be on? - the front of the car or the rear of the car? I took it out in a hurry and didn't really pay attention until I took it out. :( The thing in the attached pic is what I'm talking about.

Question 2 - On the rear AWD Illuminas, towards the lower end where the bolt goes there 2 sides, one side has small notches and the other side is plan. Which side do the notches go on? Towards the inside or the outside of the car?

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for your response Mark, the tapering makes sense, I didn't pay attention to it, I'll look at it tomorrow and it might clear up my questions.

I know I got the driver side correct because I installed it exactly like the stock shock/spring setup, but I didn't pay attention to the passenger side.

I found this pic, I'm not sure if it is the passenger side (to tired to get out now to check), but if it is the passenger side, then I have mine installed wrong on the passenger side.

Oh I'm going to have a fun day tomorrow... :D

For the second question, I remember from reading instructions on the install, that the notcehs go to the inside.

Hmm, that is wierd, my instructions state nothing about the notches. Oh well, I'll try to figure it out today...

Well, I installed the rears in a tapering method, the way Ramenpride suggested. The front ones were a bi*** to go on.

Wow, they were a big difference. I was riding around with 4 leaking/blown shocks. I love the way tokicos/eibach pros they feel, I'm running on 3s in the front and 4s in the rear. :)

Thanks for all your help guys!
