EGT Gauge Broken

I have brand new Autometer Ultralite Series gauges, boost and EGT. EGT is broken, needle is pointing straight to the left (at about 2.5). I checked the tap, looked solid, wires looked good, connections to the back of the gauge were good. Any other ideas what I should look for? These are basically brand new, I've had them about 1 month. I've never maxed it out (my engine is not melted).

Is it getting power (does the light go on)?

Check that the ground is on bare metal and secure.

It's getting power. When I turn on my lights, it lights up too.

If you've check over ALL of the wiring to make sure nothing is rubbing/frayed or anything, I'd say find a friend with the same EGT setup and toss in his gauge. If it works you know your gauge crapped on you. If it doesn't work you still have a wiring issue, or the sending unit could be busted, you could pull it out and look at it. Or call the manufacturer since this should all be under warranty.

The most common point of failure in EGT gauges is the probe. If you can find someone else with a probe the same size as yours, swap them out and see if that helps. Also, make sure the probe isn't sticking too far in and touching the other side of the exhaust manifold runner.
