did the egr delete and idle jumped to 2k at idle, give it gas and it drops back down then right back up. any ideas? this is a 420a also

Sounds like a vacuum leak.

Or the block off plate isnt properly attached and sealed

i do attach both plates right. the throttle body and the motor?

One plate goes on the cylinder head, the other goes on the back of the intake manifold. You shouldn't have to touch the throttle body...

said f it and put a brand new egr valve on, new gaskets and all and still the same thing

Its a vacuum leak guaranteed. I'm guessing you either forgot to remove the vacuum hose that attached to the EGR solenoid, or you removed the vacuum hose but forgot to plug the nipple you pulled it off of.

but mines runs hot slowy at stop lights unless i pressed the gas to get the rpms up to 3000 rpm then the temp goes back down to normal.i know it has something to do with the egr valve because the first time i plugged the vacume lines back up to it idled fine and i drove the car all day and it never ran hot at all. but the next day it went back to driving the same way,rough idle and overheating. also i found out my bov is leaking badley could that make the car run hot.

im having the same problem but i cant find a vacuum leak anywhere even smoke tested it nothing
