I have a Georgia titled 91 Eclipse that doesn't have any egr equipment because it wasn't part of the federal emissions. Here is the problem, I'm trying to get it smogged in Cali and the Cali 91 Eclipse has the egr crap. Does anyone know if I need to do anything different to the car to add the egr stuff? Also a picture of the egr sensor, solenoid, etc... would be very helpful for reference on location of such parts. Thanks in advance, Nate. :dsm:

Are you sure about that??? The smog nazi's are telling me I'll gross pollute without the EGR system and it is an automatic fail without it...I am having problems finding anything to state otherwise. Your help is greatly appreciated. :thumb:

Positive. My '93 is Federal. Check your door jamb, driver's side, and it should say "Meets all Federal safety and emissions requirements at time of manufacture". CA cars say California instead. You're not required to make any mods on a used car so long as it hasn't been tampered with.

What about doing an engine swap?? I had to do an engine change, does that matter? If it doesn't matter, what do I tell the smog nazis??

first of all dont tell them shit about a motor swap they'll never know....... now as for emissions its too old and it didnt come with it so it is exempt they r feeding you a line of bull shit dont let them steal your money mine doesnt have it neither one of them ones from canada and ones from west virginia

Well...I got into a huge argument with this guy...Basically when push came to shove I made him look like an asshole in front of his whole shop...So, instead of admitting he was wrong he sent me to a referee..what a ####...Anyways the car passed like a champ..Thanks for the help.
