Does anyone live close to Pomona, California?? I just need some help on identifying some things on my car. Hopefully someone can come and take a look at it.I'm 17 years old so don't know what kind of modifications I have other than the cam,BOV,injen air intake, and NGK plugs and wires. I have a 97 GST.

Closest to you as your standing in front of the car is the radiator, down and left is the transmission, and on the right side is the plastic cover that shields the timing belt....just kidding. Here is a really good link for a virtual engine bay tour that might answer a lot of questions.

If that link doesn't work search recently for a thread that has a virtual engine bay tour. If you are still unsure post a CAMERA picture, no freaking cell phone pics please unless they are super clear. One picture of the engine bay and we can tell you things like if your BOV is vented or not, and if you have some aftermarket parts on but we could really be assisted if you give us as much info as possible like details the seller "claims" is installed. Welcome!

Alrite cool thanks guys. I have this picture but idk if yu can see much.

I have this thing under my passenger seat. Looks like a big chip I think its connected to the engine, just dnt know what it is. I would show you guys a picture but I don't have my car outside right now. Ill try to send one right now

It's a turbo automatic. Has aftermarket intake (does it have three little hoses connected to it besides the fatter going to the red BOV? ) that is the red thing with the filter on it. I dont see a j-pipe so most likely stock T-25, upgraded plug wires, and missing cover on the timing gears. I didn't see a small plastic tube for an aftermarket boost gauge, does it have one? A closer pic of the turbo/exhaust shield would be good. The battery doesn't look factory either, but it's also not performance. Your BOV is aftermarket but looks EBay to me, and it is routed properly which is a good thing. Your either running the stock SMIC (side mount intercooler) or long route FMIC, and we can't see if you only have the short pipe flanged with the BOV or all hard upper intercooler pipes. Looks really clean and no rust. Lots of stock parts, all EGR and emissions looks like its there as well. Snap pictures of anything and everything your curious about and ask away.

LOL ROFL
The one thing you named is the one thing he doesn't have...
But he needs it... seriously tho... make sure you buy a timing belt cover.

OMG I can't believe I called that s***, could that have been scripted any better? I wrote that before his pic was posted and sure as heck its something he is missing. On a serious note if this is to be your daily driver that cover will help to protect from any sort of debris falling into the timing belt area. no cover the timing belt, parts, and labor is $900 to have fixed. The covers can be found for as low as $20 in the classifieds or up to $75 for the clear Gates ones...

Lol yeah people told me I need a belt cover.I have a side mount intercooler. When i turn on the a\c it blow super hot.if I buy a front mount would that help it cool it down? And I've asked this before, I've checked this link that shows the I.D. Number of what the stock eclipse gst suppose to have.it ends with 1-4 but mine is ending 1-5. Sry I that I can't provide the numbers before these, can't remember. The intake does not have any other hose, just the one that's connected to the BOV. Would a video showing the car how it runs help??

If the car has cams, try posting a video of it while it is running. We should be able to tell whether or not they're OE or aftermarket. (this would be easier than removing the valve cover and inspecting the head/valvetrain - unless that's not too technical for you, just remember to inspect all the rubber gaskets for cracks or breaks and replace them if need be. RTV is your friend in that situation)

Everything more or less looks stock. But none the less, very clean 2g, how does it drive?

If your "A/C" is blowing cold and the dial in your car is set to the blue not red(funny but I have made that mistake, if the dial isn't turned fully to the right the a/c can blow hot...) then you probably need to charge your a/c system or further troubleshoot. Having a front mount will not help you in any way possible right now. It will make your fans work harder to keep the car cool as the FMIC will blockmair flow to the radiator. Why are you worried about the car cooling down? Do you have any pics of the interior, does it have aftermarket gauges, if so what are they?

Stock GS-T's can come with all sorts of different options, and with as many "swaps" that are being done, ie 5spd to auto, auto to 5spd, talon to eclipse, 2ga to 2gb, talon to 2gb, ect...GS-T to GSX, and my all time favorite the GS-T Spyder to GSX. Take more pictures and post and we can help you. Use the search before you ask, and don't get defensive if someone knocks on you. We mean it in a hard love sort of way :)

No yeah I turn the dial all the way to blue and also let it on for a while cus a\c do take a while to get cold. But when I say this a\c blows super hot I mean like its so hot that it almost burn my face off LOL it blows like 150 degrees hot and I dnt have gauges unfortunetly. Nd yeah thanks guys, all yu guys are great. Hopefully I record a video of my car nd ride it,so you guys can tell me what I have and I also so that chip I was talking about. Hopefully all you guys check it out also will be posting the link here.nd thanks DOHCTA,it drives good love the turbo :)

The thing under your passenger seat sounds like your factory amplifier for your radio :D

It has 3 connections. Lol well hopefully yu guys can tell me what it is tomorrow. Ima be posting it like at 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Most likely.

Well yeah idk. Most likely ill take off me seat nd check it out. But it might be who know.I have amp connection all the way to the back, so why is the guy going to put it drilled under the passenger seat. Does it come will all GST??
