the tps tested out fine. Im still having a problem with idling, and now dying when bov opens. My iac steps are at 30 at idle, the car still idles at 1250ish. The iac does not seem to want to move at idle. I do not have an FIAV. When the car is at 180 degrees, it will not start without me giving it gas. Cold start up is prefect. Should i just try a couple iacs from the junkyard?
Mine tested out fine. What am i doing wrong?

I still have not solved the tps problem. I read on the evo forums to not worry about the idle position switch because the evo 7/8/9 do not have it, along with the 2gs. I do know it is in the tps. I can hardly get it to hit 1 in evoscan, even if im 2 stepping it is at 0. The tps tested out fine. Should i just give another one a shot?

Make sure you have done this correctly after verifying you dont have a busted TPS or IAC motor:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/evoscan-ecuflash-tuning/456741-adjusting-biss-screw-evoscan.html

Yes, i have confirmed the biss is correct multiple times. My tps and iac have tested to be ok. It just seems as though the idle position switch on evoscan is not working right. The IAC moves soo SLOW, even if the car is idling at 2k it will take 1 min to move 1 step. Can someone confirm this is normal?

The question is, why the hell is it idling at 2k? You set the idle with the screw (somewhere around 850-1k or whatever the hell you want), and then have the IAC motor reset along with it to stay in its proper range. The TPS is not going to be zero (in evoscan data) ever unless you go into evoscan and recreate the equation for it. Make sure everything WORKS with no leaks. A faulty TPS is going to keep you from getting anywhere, and asking us about the same problem doesn't fix it. YOU have to fix this. Maybe you have a bad IAC? We can't really help other than to tell you to check and fix/replace whats messed up. GL :hmm:;)

The stepper motor allows air to bypass the throttle plate to sustain idle when the plate snaps shut.

I understand. I do not know if it my tune. No one seems to understand any of the iac settings in ecuflash. I have tested both my iac and tps and they test fine. Sometimes it will hang at 1500 rpm and not come down, and the iac wont move its steps. I want a 1k idle. Thanks for the help, but if i had money to throw around to try to resolve the problem then i probably wouldnt be asking. WHAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW IF HOW TO ADJUST THE IAC SETTING? When i adjust then they do not seem to have any affect on how the car actually idles.

To lower your idle, you need to let the car warm up, and then determine where it is at. If you want the idle lower, then tighten the Base Idle Set Screw (BISS). (If you want a higher idle loosen it) You must use Evoscan to reset your ISC (or IAC) motor to be back in the correct range. If your idle is bouncing or moving around, the car is not warmed up (IE cold start) or you have an air leak (Throttle body shaft seals count too) or the FIAV problem. There is NO reason for the stepper motor to be moving much if at all when its idling, because the job of the ISC or IAC is to let air bypass the throttle plate when it snaps shut. Basically, the IAC ISC only affects stalling problems when coming to a stop or WOT pulls. The BISS screw sets the amount of air to bypass the throttle body at all times and maintain an idle. I hope this helps because I just don't know what else to tell you at this point.

Also, I saw your profile, and that "turbo XS" BOV had better be recirculated...

I am now running a greddy type S. i should update that. It is recirc. I understand how the iac and biss work. (I dont have FIAV). In IAC intial steps, i set it to 27 steps at operating temp. But my car is idling around 45 steps, and if i unscrew the biss, it just raises the idle and the iac never closes. Do i have to take the battery off and put it back on so the ecu knows where the iac is? Even though i can hold the iac with evoscan.

I finally got the car running near perfect (only issue is with a little bucking at low rpms but i do have 272 cams). I purchased the SD rom. I will be wiring up my MAP and IAT sensor very soon. Is the VE MAP given a good base map? I read somewhere that all i have to do is find the percentage that my AFR is off in comparison to my target AFR, then change it that same percentage in the VE table at the correct RPM and kPa. Is this the correct way to get a fairly good/correct tune with Speed Density? Also is the VE map the only map that need adjusting since i am running 3 bar gm sensor and everything is already preset? Thanks, sorry for multiple questions.

"You use the big maps (non-SD) one to get everything setup. You need to set up the SD settings for the map sensor. Then log MAF airflow counts and SD airflow counts. Then you adjust the VE map until they match at all points. Then you copy the VE table from your bigmaps mad Rom to a [SD rom]"

A little more simplified it is saying...... I need to use the tune I have (non SD tune) and get my map sensor to get some readings (with the maf still connected). And log MAF and SD airflow counts, and get them to match by adjusting the VE map (still in the non SD tune?). Once I get both MAF and SD airflow counts to match, i then copy VE map from NON SD tune to my SD tune(rom). Is this correct? and how come i cannot find MAF airflow counts and SD airflow counts in EvoScan?

Been searching through evoscan for more than 30 min and cannot find it. Theres no way i am missing it.

From what I have gathered... I believe that is the correct interpretation. For those log items, make sure you are using his specific ceddy/ evo 5/6 ecu selection in evoscan (I think you have to put one of his files into evoscan for it to show up)

Well i can't tell you everything, you should have listened/read ceddy's instruction on installing ecuflash and evoscan. I'm not going to look that up for you, sorry man. I guarantee you its either blatantly on his website or in his thread.

I have spent plenty of time reading all the info ceddy gave on the topic and he says nothing about making it appear in evoscan. He just explains to get the 2 to equal eachother but nothing about getting them in evoscan. Its a little funny you say it is blatant when you posted a thread asking nearly the same question. thanks for the help........

Hope someone can help me out here! I am not sure why it isnt there. maybe i have the wrong verison (v2.7)?

Never posted anything on how to get the right evoscan log items. When you download his ceddymods, I think you should put one of his files in the rommetadata folders in the evoscan files. That is all I remember doing. (try searching through his threads... sorry I can't remember everything...) You're welcome :|
I gave you the hardest info to get, and you can't get some of the easier to find stuff.. come on

What ROM needs to be flashed onto the car to log the aircounts with the logger and MAP sensor (omni 4 bar) wired in?

I guess that wasnt the exact you asked and the exact question i have. :hmm: You have yet to help me with anything, besides telling me stuff i already know. If it was so obvious and so easy to find the answer to my question you could have sent me a link instead of calling me an asshole. but okay.

Hope to get some help from someone, if not ill post a more detailed post since i need to know within a few days.

Yea, I guess vital information that cannot be found in any of his forums that was discovered by firsthand testers and acquired through a PM on how to get an SD setup isn't what your where asking for throughout this thread, let alone various other shit I have answered as countless others have done for you in this thread.
You can quit being stupid or lazy and find the rest yourself. There is literally nothing else you need that isn't out there.
And why the hell should I have to send you a link to it, do something for yourself for once, damn.

k. ill post another thread and get a responce from someone who knows the answer instead of acting like it is so obvious that it can be found in a google search. :p

Still cannot figure out how to get 2byte Aircounts SD and 2byte Aircounts MAF to appear in evoscan. I really need some helpful help here and no someone telling me it is obvious, when it is no where to be found on ceddy's website or on google. Speed density is set up and ready to go, with the maf still hooked up, im trying to get it dialed in.
