ECU question: please help thanks

i have a 1995 eagle talon tsi FWD AUTO the ECU in it is MD312464 which is a Eprom. pretty sure it is fried. i am only gonna use this car as a daily driver. so i don't want too pay the extra money for a Eprom if i don't have too. is thier any good techs that knows exactly what other ECU's i can use that might be cheaper. also i would like too know if i have too have a FWD ECU or will a AWD ECU will work. and please give year models that will work besides 95 also if any. thank you for your help i appreaciate this.

As long as the ecu is from a 95-96 turbo model car it will work. FWD and AWD won't matter.

95-96 like he said, non eprom will cost like $40 on ebay or real cheap at a junkyard. How do you know the ecu is fried?

I doubt the ECU is fried. Probably just a burned ground sensor track near Pin 92 when you pop the cover off. there will be a little white trace with a part missing (burnt) in the center. Bridge the connections and your golden. If thats the problem. This is usually caused by a shorted o2 sensor. Good luck

Also you could use the 95-99 ecu, but 97-99 switches the firing order.

good lawd yall folks are quick i love this kind of service. and im not for sure it is fried. but i have had 2 mechanics come to the house. and neither of thier diagnostics machines will bring the ecu up like it's even there. if you get what im saying. the problem with the car is it's getting no fire to the coils. but the check engine light isn't comeing on either. i even tried to do the turn the key 3 times trick where the check engine light starts blinking and the check engine light won't do anything. won't blink or nothing. i had a very similar problem with my stealth TT and it ended up the ECU was bad. but if yall have a idea why no ones diagnostics machine would bring the ecu up. im all ears . again thanks for ya help

Easiest way to test would be to borrow another ECU.

Non-eproms are cheap to buy anyway.

i been working on that in the GADSM forum but no one has replied too me in quite a few days hopeing someone has one in GA.

Ebay has them too, and they are usually cheaper than $75. I bought my eprom for $80. Have you checked if the ecu is even sending to the coil. I would try to get a ecu to swap out, too bad you dont have a buddy with a dsm. I know like 10 people in my town with 1g's.
