So what it is here is my 95 gst is running very rich ever since I got it, I had a apexi turbo timer plugged in and on the a/f setting it would read a nice 14.2-14.6 while I was driving but as soon as I left off the gas or push in the clutch the a/f ratio would jump up to 20.0. surges when i'm just idling
I get backfires in my exhaust all the time when i'm driving and simply left off the gas so I have reason to believe my ecu needs a reflash (a local mechanic said it needs a reflash too). When I took it to the mechanic & the Mitsubishi dealership they both said that the ECU and MAF sensor aren't communicating to each other. I had my apexi SAFC hooked up for a while but removed it thinking this would fix the problem of it running rich, but to no avail.
Any help would be much appreciated on what might be the root cause, if you need any pics i'll gladly take some.
recap;
-surging idle
-rich gas use at idle
-ecu and maf not communicating
-turbo timer reads 20.0 at idle
