Since the dealership stopped making the drip molding, and JNZ does not have this part. We can use this part from a Sebring, right? If so, what year Sebring is compatible with a 97 eclipse? A 1997 Sebring, coupe?

I'm also planning on ordering from the Chrysler dealership if the parts are interchangeable.

The avenger and 1g seabring coupe mouldings are differnt than the eclipse. THe avenger and seabring coupe windows are almost square on the rear of the glass unlike the eclipse talons which curve downwards. It may be poscile to make it work but you risk bending the drip edge. I would go to the junk yard and pull one to see if it fits boefore I go buy one.

Ok, I see. I was just thinking about trip the the junkyard next weekend. I'll see whatt I get and hopefully they are in better condition than mine.

Are you talking about the metal piece at the tops of the windows, the piece with paint that starts cracking and showing chrome underneath?

I think I've read somewhere you can use rubberized spray paint, even though I think he was talking about the bottom window strip. I don't see why not.

I guess I'm assuming you just need paint. Otherwise, yeah junkyards are loaded with this part.

I was actually wondering if anyone had a pic of it all chrome. Lol.

Yes you can peel the plastic coating off. You then can paint the sainless steel or polish it up. How ever it leaves more of a gap between the drip edge and the body, 1/8in or more added to the gap. This may be the wave of the future as they are no longer in production.

Nasty Dream: You got it right, as far as what I'm looking for.
Nuclearr: I'm gonna try your idea. After a junkyard visit. Hopefully I can get two sets and experiment with peeling the plastic and polishing it or like Nasty Dream said, using rubberized paint.

I've done this and had it come out looking almost like factory:D

if somebody can find drip guards that fit im gonna make carbon fiber ones if anyone else would be interested i can ship them to you

I also need new drip rails as well, very badly. Mine are cracked very badly and I am considering just using plasti dip to repair them, but my only concern is with the extra large gap that it will have as there is about an 1/8" to 1/4" over hang of rubber that will not be there once stripped to bare metal. So if you are going to make some carbon fiber ones please let me know, I am definitely interested in those. I work for a Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep dealership and I have checked into these replacement drip rails for the talon's, which are the exact same part number for the eclipse's, and there are no more available and are discontinued. I have even tried going through a mitsubishi dealership and they cannot get them anymore either.

Ike when I did mine I left the old rubber that hangs over the edges. Just cut loose the pieces between the hang over that are flaking out and use some sand paper to roughen the surface for the plasti dip to grab to. A couple coats of plasti dip then sand it to level out the edges and then coat a couple more times. If the hang over edge is coming off then you don't have much choice but to take it all off unless you can come up with a way to form the plasti dip.

I would also be interested in some aftermarket made drip rails.
