Is it worth staying with a 7 bolt? How hard are the motors to work on? I really need to be lead in the right direction with bolt on's, or things that can improve my performance for cheap. Any suggestions on a project with maybe a 2g eclipse or talon will work, just looking to buy some kind of beater and the right path to travel. Please no Ignorant comments, Thanks!:thumb::thumb:

Sorry, havent really researched one(drive a tsi awd), im saying if i buy one to do a swap what is the path to travel, such as bolt ons or things to do such as internals, nothing outrageous.

Sorry, i havent bought a beater, im looking at cheap cars. If i buy one, do regular maintenance, what are some good bolts ons. (Jdmers up here are very cocky jerks) Just looking for something rusty and very trusty to show the jdmers whats up. Thanks for the feedback guys :hellyeah:

ok in my opinion, i would go with the gsx but there hard to find them these days in well condition...!!! so id rather get the gst... just my taste...!!!! dropped a 6bolt on it and some bolt ons and im good... just do the proper maintenance.. and youll be fine...!!

ok.. so u have a tsi right? i dont get it sorry. i get confused cause u say u have a tsi awd, bt then u say that u want something cheap and rusty to go fast. . . if ## looking get a 1g awd drive. they are cheaper and easier to find down here. not sure about up there.

I drive a talon tsi, its hard for me to explain this LOL.
1. My talon tsi has gauges everywhere perfect paint and runs a 12.3, Looks kind of like a drag car with my slicks and 17's.(People Expect its fast)
2.I want a very cheap rs with a blown motor to do a swap. Very rusty and very torn up. (A Sleeper) I wanted to know some easy swap suggestions, with some bolt ons, after maintenance of course. As i said before Jdmers are very cocky and everywhere.

i would say find a 2g gst or gsx . . .u wont be able to make a gst a gsx with ## 1g gsx. u can though swap the motor into the gst or gsx. i am not sure about the rs since most of the stuff is backwards. a rusted gsx or gst might still have the ecu which u would need and all the proper connections for ## setup. get me??

maybe get a gst spyder. . and make it awd. . that would be nice and unique. and u can sell it for a lot more when u get rid of it

Yeah just the price range around here sucks. People are overpriced and very unbudgetable. Going to look and post some pictures on what i find and maybe build a gs, or something. Ill post what i find! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

u can try to do a turbocharger and supercharger on it. would work but would cost a lot. and the engine would have to handle it.

Dude, if you get a RS or GS, dont exspect much more than a exhaust and intake on a budget. To make one of those "respectable" its going to take a lot of money. Trust me i use to drive a RS in high school. What all they guys are trying to tell you is that you cant just put a 4G63 into a RS or GS shell, those cars are setup for the Chrysler 420A engine. You can turbo or supercharge a 420A, but the price is going to be steeper than just buying a GS-T or GS-X to begin with. IMHO if your buying a daily driver that is fast and reliable, get a factory turbo charged ride. PEACE!

Actually, I'm pretty sure some of the 2g GS models do have the 4g63 (Non turbo) in them stock, I don't know what year it is but a friend of mine just sold her automatic GS and I was telling her she had the 420a as well but then she popped the hood and everything read 4g63, and I know she didn't have a gst/gsx, so idk..

I never heard that one before:confused:... but I know for sure 1Gs did come with the non-turbo 4G63 well some of them. maybe your friend did a swap but thats a lot of work to just drop a non-turbo 4G63. did you get to see it?

What do you mean everything read 4g63? In Europe the 2g non turbos have a 4g63 but the were NEVER sold that way here only 1Gs had NA 4g63 in the USA. Its more likely that someone would put a NA 4g63 in a GST than someone converting an GS to a 4g63. All GS in the US had a 420a except the spyder which has a 4g64.
