eclipse gst smoking

Took my eclipse out for a ride with out the arm from the wastegate hookup to the flapper (forgot to put the cotter pin after i installed the 16g) ow my eclipse is smoking a grey color and smells like oil burning... is it possible i blew the seals?

that's very well possible. remove the turbo inlet and check for shaft play.

Very minimal shaft play side to side... none in and out

Also it does not smoke rite away when i turn the car on. It is after i drive it for a few minutes... any suggestions?? Before i buy a rebuild kit and where do yall recommend getting a turbo rebuild kit from?

If it is smoking after the car has warmed up, then it sounds like valve stem seals to me. If there is no shaft play on the turbo, I wouldn't worry about it. You would know if the turbo oil seal was gone. You would find oil when you took off the intake pipe to check shaft play, and oil if you took any coupler off the intercooler piping

+2 on the valve seals, my car did the same thing, wouldn't smoke right away, but once you got driving and would come to idle it would start smoking.

Forgot to mention that the smoke started after a boost leak test that confirmed my pcv was bad could oil have got past and is just burnng off

Fpr was bad... i guess the smoke was unburned fuel??? Hopes this helps for future similar problems..
