EBC brake pad help

So today I just recevied my EBC pads, I open the box and to my surprise one of the little brackets on on of the pads broke off. My question is, Is the pad with the broken bracket trash or can it still be used?

It's trash. Send it back. Just don't put it on your car. It would be horrible to lose a DSMer because they put a defective brake pad on their car. I'd cry.

What "bracket", the low-lining squealer? I can't think of anything else attached to the pad.
If you're dratstically needing brakes, and don't want to wait on a replacement, you won't be facing any hazard in running without that part on there.
