How many of you guys have the Ebay "type" exhausts? Like the Greddy Type and such? How do you like them and do they sound anything like the real deal? Is it worth spending the extra for the real deal or do these guys get the job done just like the real mccoy does?

Alot of the ebay downpipes are nice pieces for the money, I personally have the Megan Racing which I got on ebay at the time. It has nice welds and the hangers were all in the perfect locations.

I'm not talking about necessarily just the DP but along with the catback.

Well in my opinion it depends on how much performance your looking for ... A "Brand name" Type exhaust might be a more direct setup , and mandral bent , instead of press bent ...What are your future goals. I looked for exhaust for a long time , Im a college student and i have to spend my money very wisely... So Tell me what your future goals are , and i might be able to point you in the right direction...

I mean I just don't wanna throw out 600 bucks on a catback and 300 on a down pipe if the Type" exhausts sound and perform just as well... So far I have intake, fmic, 06h 20g, and fuel mods so I'm looking for a nice 3" exhaust for my daily driver with some drag and autoX use..... I mean for the price they cant be beat, but as far as sound is concerned, I'm a little sketched.

dejonpowerhouse.com

check out their 3" 2g system. i got their setup for my 1g for 475 shipped to my house. thats for DP and catback. sounds awesome, feel's great in the butt dyno. it's not the prettiest thing ever. it's aluminized, but mine has held up this whole winter, and im from michigan, land of salted roads.

so if you're just looking for an excellently flowing system for the cheap, check out theirs. I f-ing love mine.

Even though most of those "type/style" knockoff products tend to work out and be an O.K. deal, many of them don't. In the case of an exhaust, it may not be that big of a deal (I dont think it is). Just don't make a habit of buying "style/type" products. I just hope they don't make JE "style" pistons.LOL

Take full consideration into what you want, not just what you want today, but what you might want/need a few months/years down the line. That with some product research will carry you a long way. The N1 seems to be a common exhaust choice among DSMers. I have the PIT 3" catback and a megan dowpipe. The megan downpipe was suspect at one point, but after reading a few reviews and threads.....I decided it was ok for my application.

Yeah, I absolutely love the sound of the Thermal/ATR exhaust, absolutely amazing. What do oval style canisters sound like on a turbo car? I would mind having the Greddy "style" for 250 plus shipping and a hundred dollar tsudo, megan downpipe for another hundred....

Now with the Tsudo n1, yuck... It doesn't even have an exhaust tone to it!! At WOT, its nothing but air coming out of it and at normal driving it soudns like a stock exhaust. Plus its only a 2.5" exhaust.....But I guess for the money, you cant beat it if thats what your application calls for.

personally if i had to get exhaust again i'd still get the dejon. it's a great piece and they have great products. at least i know where it's comming from, and for 475 shipped, it's really not that bad for an whole o2back.

as far as i know, oval can's just help muffle sound more. simply because there's more packing material to deaden sound. i highly doubt it effects flow much at all. Eventually im going to hack the bullet of my dejon and put on a dual outlet oval magnaflow. for a stock look, and a little sound reduction.

ah shit sorry man, i compleatly looked over that. disregard then.

otherwise, if you're gonna go for ebay exhausts, make sure the welds are good. also make sure it's mandrel bent and check for neckdowns. i know the megan stuff has a tendancy to neckdown to fit onto stock systems.

I got my 3" catback and dp from ebay and they are great quality and sound great. All the hanger locations are in the perfect position.I think paying 600bucks for a catback is outrageous. Its just like the ebay fmic kits. They work great and are much cheaper.

A 3" mandrel bent piece of pipe, Is a 3" mandrel bent piece of pipe, That's that... If you want to spend an extra 600$ For a stamping and a decal that says a name brand, Go ahead.

I had Polk Performance install my 3 inch N-1 turbo back exhaust its all SS and mandrel bends, it is great. Its not a name brand I don't know where they purchased it from, but I can tell you it has "Heroshima Foundries" stamped on it. They told me that there are only two or three foundries in Japan that can manufacture exhausts. And that most all the manufacturers get there stuff from the same place. I would have to agree with this assessment, yes you can purchase the high dollar products, but I seriously doubt there is any real difference in quality. I would put my exhaust up against any name brand any day. I am very pleased with what I have. Plus alot more money for other mod's :thumb:

just get a used brand name type exsuast, like my 3" n1 turbo back was 380, let somebody else pay for it new its not like it can be screwed up maybe a few scratches.... I've boughten an ebay "n1 style" muffle before and it was a lot smaller than a real n1 and the inside diameter is only about 1 inch diameter, super restrictive and sounds ricey

Here are 2 pics , Of b4 the install , ill get some of it on the car possibly 2morrow ...... It was snowing all day 2day LOL

I'm trying to get my car up and running so I can get it off to get tuned with that massive 06h 20g :D So im having to kinda go with a budget on exhaust since I owe my parents some money still :(

that logic performance looks exactly the same as the tsudo N1 which is another good budget exhaust. Id bet its the same with a different badge. what does it say on the tip?

I know for a fact that Tsudo n1's pipings are 2.5". with a 06h I'm def. gonna want 3"

Hey! I have a tsudo n-1 3" sitting right next to me waiting to go on my car, EVERY peice has a 3" outlet, except the part where the downpipe goes on. Thats 2 3/4. And trust me I can read a tape measure. :toobad:

Thats right and all it takes it your favorite dremel to match the flange with your downpipe or have a piece of pipe welded in and its a full 3", not that its so bad as it is but you can make it flow better

I looked on the page and it said 2.5" piping, and we pulled my friends GST tsudo n1 exhaust and sure enough it was 2.5
