Ebay FMIC Kit?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I run an ebay intercooler and I have no problems with it. It cools pretty well even in this 100* heat. The cold side of my IC pipes are always cool to the touch after a run.

Some of those ebay intercoolers are actually pretty good compared to a name brand unit. Only drawback is the piping kit never usually fits right even if its designed to fit your specific vehielc setup. But Id personally get it especially if your on a tight budget.

That's the one thing I wouldn't hesitate to go ebay on...check the welds and pressure check it!

If your not running high boost then ebay intercoolers hold up pretty well. what psi are you running? any one you get though definitely pressure check it to be sure of any problems from the get go. i have an ebay fmic running 10psi daily and never had a problem i love it and it has held up to 13psi pulls..maybe if you were running 21+ lbs. then i probably wouldnt trust the welds on them.

i used to have a ebay ic with ebay piping, i custom made the piping to fit the short route intead of long route..but on a fully built gst i was pushing 28psi with no ill effects and my ic endtanks and piping where always cool the to touch

i wouldnt hesitate to buy another ebay ic...and the piping , i mean its just piping its hard to #### up, but nothing a little modification here and there wont fix.

Unless you have some factual data, I do not see how the 21 psi mark means anything for your reasoning regarding the welds.

If you are anal about your turbo set up then the design of the intercooler will come into play. If you care you want something that will cool your air uniformly while flowing well enough to not effect your charged air pressure. Check this out...

Near the bottom they talk about intercoolers... that is if you care that much.

I have the Ebay innercooler and run 27PSI, trapped 118.75 in the quarter mile, full weight car. I see no problems with getting the kit except it is really big, you have to do a lot of cutting to get it to fit. Also it blocks alot of the air to the radiator so if you drive in hot temps with the AC on, it can cause your car to run hotter than normal.

EDIT: Nevermind I didn't see it was a non turbo kit. That one is smaller so it will be fine.
