easy question

hey guys i just bought an apexi n1 exhaust for a 2G eclipse GS. i was wondering if removing the silencer would boost the horsepower and improve the sound. can anyone show me how to remove the silencers? pictures would be appreciated!!

there should be just a couple screws/bolts on the side of the muffler that hold it in place.. ive heard a lot of exhaust with silencers and without.. normally they just sound more..... exhaust leak sounding.. instead of smooth, like it is without.. i would just take it out IMO
