Alright guys, Got a question for ya.
So my E-brake won't hold the car on semi steep hills even if I yank it all the way up. Usually I would just adjust it, but adjusting it just cause's it to stick while driving and then my rear brakes start to make a very annoying and embarrassing humming noise.
My Question is, what should I do try fix this first? my friend went around a corner in his 1G and pulled the E-brake and locked the tires with super ease; I envied his perfectly good working 1G E-brake, and am now motivated to fix mine.
He's never adjusted it or anything, just typical brake maintenance like new pads every x amount of miles and such.
I'm going to start with De-glazing my pads, but if that doesn't help much if any at all what should I do next? (I will probably get new pads if that doesn't do much) I'm considering replacing the Caliper + assembly. Doing anything to the rotor's is out of the question because they are in nice condition and are cross drilled.
What do you guys think I should do?
Note: adjusting it doesn't help much as far as holding so the cable could be stretched. I believe this is my own fault seeing as I had some fun in the Ice this winter, but it wasn't very good to begin with.
Note2: for the 2G owners, 1G's did NOT come with drum brakes regardless of year and or sub-model.
