Hey guys im new to this forum looking for some help. I own a 1991 Talon TSI that is heavily modded runs (11.9). The car looks and drives great except when I put it in neutral. Sometimes the idle will start going up and down and drop as low as 400 rpms and die. Other times it idles at a perfect steady 1200, but ussally its the lather. I can smell it burning gas out of the exhaust I was wondering if it could be an O2 sensor? Ive also considered it being the ECU or the MAFS. If it will help I can post a list of mods or you can just check my profial, thanks.

update: Ok I messed around with it a little bit and it is doing much better still stalls out occasionally, but not nearly as bad.

PLEASE don't tell me you messed with the BISS screw on the throttle body without taking the proper steps. If you did you will burn out your IAC in a hurry if its not burnt out allready.

Test your ICS. It might be bad or going bad. Mine was doing what your saying yours is doing. I took 2 IAC's and made 1 good one and shes fixed now.

my bov is hooked up properly now I was testing for boost leaks and making sure everything was working properly I did not mess with the BISS scew she dnt die ne more but still idles a little high sometimes.

Here is something that you can do to help your idling problems. Make shure you have no boost leaks thow. If you do this fix might not work correctly. The fix only takes a few minutes from start to finish and is very easy and free. The only tools you need is a screw driver and 2 short peices of wire. I used aligator clips to insure a good connection.

Thx guys it is idling alot better now. Ran 11.90 last pass. want to get to low 11s, but I dont have the time or money at the moment.

I'd like to know how you got your BOV "hooked up properly" with having a NON recirculating TiAL with a Dejon Tool intake with no recirculating fitting.
