ok, i haven't had a chance to troubleshoot my car yet, but i thought i might get some input in case my suspect is wrong. i've been having a weird hesitation that appeared recently, but i think it has something to do with my electrical system. last night, i was coming home from my friends house and noticed that my battery, coolant, and brake light were dimly lit in the dash. as i accelerated, the lights would get brighter, so i shut down my gauge lights, turned off everything in my car minus lights, and drove slow;coasting down hill helped the lights go out, accelerating made the lights come on, but not fully. the battery in my car is an optima yellow top and is only 4 months old. i suspect something wrong with my alternator, and will troubleshoot the car on friday with my multimeter and load tester, but was wondering what else could cause this problem other than the alternator taking a hot steamer? thanks for any input. also i suspect the alternator because it is original and has 189000 miles on it, and i checked the wiring to my alternator and my battery, but will do a full check when i can get my tools out of storage. :dsm:

Definetly your alternator. It's amazing it lasted that long, really.
They're easy to replace. Every rebuilt one I've had only lasted about a year, but they come with a lifetime warranty! You get really fast at switching them after 3-4 times. :thumb:
