ok so i did the balance shaft elimination mod (poorly) and my oil light comes on at idle when it warms up, and i have a VERY loud valve tick which came right after i did the bs mod, i also put in another oil pump, my question is the car has 170K on it will tearing it apart and fixing the bs oiling holes solve the problem or is the engine probably too worn anyways? what i mean is should i just get another engine from a junk because judging from the loudness of the valve tick and lack of oil pressure this one sounds effed

edit: at idle when the oil light comes on the engine kind of slows down a little then resumes its a real quick half a second change in speed is this lubrication problem? :*(

This may be a stupid question but do you have enough oil in your motor? There's really no reason why you should get tick after doing the bs mod. Did you time it correctly after you put it together? Is your oil pump working properly?

what weight oil do you use? the ticking might be the lifters,... although i dont think the two should be related...

yes my oil is at the correct level because i check it like 10x a day LOL im constantly worried my friggin motor is gonna seize :barf: and yes it is because of the bs elimination mod because i took the front shaft out with engine in car and did not block the rear oiling hole for the front shaft ( thought i might get by without doing that :nono: ) right now im considering taking the part of the front balance shaft that was spinning in the rear bearing and jb welding it in that hole any opinins on this? also is my engine going to seize eventually if i just run it like that?? when engine is at idle in park the light isnt on but as soon as i put it in drive or reverse it comes on because that drops the rpms down a little im really worried about it plus the loud valvetrain is driving me insane but its a real B*TCH to tear it apart with the AWD and everything, so any suggestions?

Wow....funny how you failed to mention that part earlier. Difficult or not, how 'bout you do the job correctly this time and that way you won't have another post saying it's still leaking oil. Do it right.

well i plugged the holes in the bearings up with jb weld, i thought this would hold, apparently not?

*sigh* :toobad:

No . . . pull everything apart again and to the mod correctly as previously stated. Pound out the bearing that is in there (carefully), spin it so the oil journal is blocked, and press the bearing back in place - Done.

If you do not think you can get the bearing out without Fvcking it up, buy a new set.

*poor motor . . . * :sosad:
