best one ever guy asked me to pop my hood i did he asked me what turbo i was running i told him it was a 20g he asked if i was pleased with it i told him yes he asked how much boost i was running so i told him 18 pounds then he says to me do you think we could swap numbers and maybe we can meet up and we could put your turbo on my civic just for a minute to see if i wanna buy one

No bragging LOL, I know it was a dumb thing, I didn't take that car seriously at all, I got it basically for free.
 
driving my buddies 98 GS (looks ricey as hell: body kit, fart can, huge sound system), we were at a concert waiting for our camp site, system blaring. kid walks over, hat sideways and pants around his ankles, starts bsing with my freind about the car.

kid: is it turbo?
my freind: no, its just a GS.
kid: cool, my freind has a 4 cylinder v6 one, its really fast!
(commence me shooting my beer out my nose, 10 feet away)
my freind: ...Oh really...?
kid: yea, its crazy fast, hes going to turbo is soon.
my freind: thats awesome...
kid: what engine does yours have?
my freind: its just a 4 cylinder.
kid: nice! is it the v6 model??

i about lost my lunch on that one.

the next one was recently, same car, in the KFC drive through. we pull up to the window.

KFC flunkee: nice car, is this the GT version?
me: uhm, no. just the GS.
KFC flunkee: thats cool, is it a v6?
me: they didnt put v6's in the 95-99 eclipses. and its just a 4 cylinder non-turbo.
(my freind, proceeds to laugh loud enough i cant cover it up)
KFC flunkee: oh. you should go race this one, they have friday night drags at the drag strip!
me: (flunkee hands me my food) thanks, bye...

we pulled off in an embarrassing symphony of ricey fart noises, still feeling better about ourselves than the parents or potential progeny of the KFC window worker.

Ugh. I was asked if I had a v8 LOL. People should really do some kinda reading.
 
I had a buddy ask me one time "how many pounds of boost does my Cold Air Intake add?" i proceded to tell him that "it doesn't add boost, boost comes from forced induction, and that comes from either a turbo or a supercharger", he gave me quite the confused look and replied with "so it adds like what 1? 2? pounds of boost?" mind you he drives a 1999 cougar with a fart can XD, finally had to have another buddy explain it with the use of youtube so he finally understood why it would be pointless put a boost gauge in his N/A car LOL
 
Trying to read the link for the funny, but so far I have had to take about 3 breaks to ease the pain of my skull from that guys typing.

This statement told me exactly where that "review" was going.

first off the qauilty out of the box is simply amazing. they we're nice and strong,30 way adjust able and everything. when i took my bc racing out i put them next to cx racing let me tell you there identical you couldnt tell the difference besides color.

Because apparently you can tell a lot about spring rate and shock valving by staring at the outside. ROFL

Guy I work with everyday is the type that's all around certified up the ass in Cat/Cummins etc and lets everyone know. He's all about diesel this and tractor that. But some things I find him saying just makes me kinda laugh but kinda annoyed that he's certified in this stuff. Because it makes other certified people look bad (like myself) IMO

Anyway he's pulling off this destroyed turbo off an ISX engine (shaft snapped) and sets it down. I'm checking it out after I had stopped by and see that it is a VGT turbo. So I say, oh cool this is the VGT turbo one of the users on tuners is trying to use. I love these turbos.

Oh. Yeah this turbo has an actuator controlled by the computer so it's pretty expensive.

...Yeah that's what I meant by the VGT comment :ohdamn:


Then later on he points to a sensor that gets bolted onto the center section of the housing and says it's the exhaust temp sensor.

(Me) No way a pyrometer would ever be bolted in at the center section. He looked at me like he didn't know what a pyrometer was, but fluidly quit the tech talk and we kept working.

Yeah and that guy gets paid more than me.
