So just got my full rebuild put into the car and started after priming the oil pump today. Soon after starting it and let it run first I noticed a lot of smoke after about a 20min run I then turned it off and was checking for leaks noticed a small coolant leak from the front of the engine. With a flashlight I shined it between the power steering pump to the water pump kind of behind the pulleys. I found that when putting it together I didn't tighten the water pump fully like I said it just leaks a little. Just wondering what would be the easiest way to correct it.

I am guessing pulling the timing cover and all that is the only way really?

It looks to be only 2 bolts that are loose from what I can figure out. That is the reason I think it don't leak a lot.

If any one has some suggestions please let me know.

Thank you

That sucks man! Ya, to me that is your only option. Maybe get a new gasket just to be 100%. Make sure all the bolts are the correct length (shown in FSM)

I'm pretty tight about my timing belt so I would recheck the hydraulic tensioner gap if I was already in there :)

Did you put a new gasket on your water pipe?

All you have to do is pull the timing cover, really easy and can be completed in maybe an hour.

Yeah the gasket is on. Just not sure what I was thinking when I didn't tighten the bolts LOL

Thanks for the help guys I figured pulling it was the the only way. Just sick of the build lately I guess.
