I have been doing research for days on what kind of cooler to get for my build but I’m stuck. So many people have different/good arguments as to why you should use -6an, -8an, and -10an lines. DSMotorsport's cooler comes with -6an lines, which from my research some people say is fine, others disagree. I like this kit because it has everything I need and I don’t feel like piecing a setup together myself, I have enough going on with my build already. What do you guys think?

Has there been a finalized answer as to whether -6an lines are sufficient enough?

Does anyone have this kit installed on a 2g? If so, pictures available?

Whatever you do, don't buy a Greddy oil cooler. They're junk. I hate mine.

I wouldn't see why - AN lines would be a big deal... I mean, people use -6, -8, or -10 lines for fuel. I have a full -6AN line system, and I have that same oil cooler that DSMotorsports sells, I just need the lines. I am going to be going with -4 AN or -6AN lines again, unless I am told otherwise... I would like to hear more on these rumors though, I hate the internet BS that gets spread around...

Did you install the cooler yet? Im assuming not bc you dont have lines, does it look like there will be fitment issues?

I wasnt planning on it, but why do you hate it?

One of the fittings that are welded to the cooler broke off when I was tightening the line and they won't replace it. So now I'm getting a different cooler.

Or you could take your cooler to a decent machine shop and the the fitting TIG welded back on for like 20$.

I'm not going to assume that you overtightened it, I'm sure that's what they think you did.

Use -6AN lines or larger. An option to help reduce pressure if you have removed balance shafts would be to use much larger lines.

I'm personally using -12AN lines for this reason for my, rather large, oil cooler.

Yeah, I was just pissed off this morning because I was up until 2am (have to be at work at 7) finally near getting the car drivable again so I could drive it to work and when I went to put the oil cooler on that happened. It was my fault and I'm just going to weld it or screw in an extra fitting I have laying around.

I'm running larger lines too. For the same reasons.

I have this kit installed on my 2g. its a really tight fit in the drivers side bumper opening. I think its almost too big, the top of the cooler is causing my bumper to melt and disform a little bit right below the headlight, I also had to trim around the bumper light. and use some of that pvc pipe putty stuff i think it was to seal the threads because the cooler uses npt fittings and they give you an fittings to screw into it. I got the pushlock hoses instead of the braided line to make the install easier.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. THANKS, Few questions for you.

Do you know the dimensions of the cooler?
Do you have any pictures? If not could you take some?
What bumper light did you have to trim? the foglight?

You may have just convinced me to not purchase the kit.

these coolers are the exact same ones as the B&M coolers, its called long-tru cool or something like that. same manufacturer basically.

im just looking for an easy route to this cooler situation. i thought this kit would be it, but i dont want my bumper to melt, and i dont want a kit that doesnt come with the right parts. like an fittings for ntp openings

The dimensions are something like 10x11 or 11x11 inches
i will try to take some tommarow (busy day today)
i had to trim the sidemarker and part of the bumper that holds the sidemarker.
you also have to make your own brackets to mount it.

your better off piecing this together with a smaller cooler. Baker precision sells these coolers pretty cheap.

the an to npt made this a pain in the ass. the first time i connected the lines to the cooler they leaked like crazy, then when i was trying to fix it i ended up stripping the threads on the cooler and had to buy a new one and start over, and now after a couple years its leaking again.

the photos would help alot...thanks for the info. thats alot of nonsense for an oil cooler, ill probably end up just piecing one together.

I do have the lines now, -6 AN. I already have the PS cooler installed, and no, it didn't give me any problems with the install. You just need to find a spot to put it...

i wonder why you didnt have problems installing it but m1nd64m3 did? is the talon bumper that much different than the eclipse bumper? whats the dimensions of your cooler if you dont mind me asking? do you have pictures?
