I want to buy dsmlink for my 1998 eclipse gsx i have a 16g setup full exhaust. what all do i need to get dsmlink is this the same as dsmlink ECMTuning, Inc. and would i need a eprom ecu? and if so why what is the difference from my stock ecu from the eprom ecu? sorry if these are stupid questions I'm just getting started on the the whole dsm thing. so what all do i need to run a good dsmlink setup?

Youll need an eprom ecu, they come in some 95's and run about 200$. ecm used to be called dsmlink, so dsmlink v1 and v2, and then ecmlink v3.

A eprom ecu has a chip in it... So you can desolder that chip and then solder in a socket that will accept a chip.. you need an eprom.. They are getting rare to come by. I got lucky and my car came with one.. early 95s came with the eprom ecu.. Then you download link to your comp and hook up the cable to the obd2 port and then to your comp and there you go..

There is another option that is still in the works. If you are running the NON eprom ecu CEDDY has done some amazing work on reflashing. Its nowhere links capabilities but its half the cost of link and would give you something to learn on. I believe the link is CEDDY Mod read up on it ;)
