DSMLink. I can't do it. I'm too dumb. (long)

I tried tuning my car tonight because I haven't had much time to work with my DSMlink. I have read the manual, and downloaded the basic tuning guide in the tech articles. (Props to Shane2GSX and NickNorth11)

Well, things were terrible.

1 AirFlowPerRev (at idle) = completely off. Don't remember what number it was.
2 IdleSw = Couldn't find it to see if the value was 1
3 ISCPosition = in the guide it says 30, mine was at 0
4 LearnedIdleAdj = it wouldn't stream so I don't know what it was
5 RawThrotPos = it wouldn't stream so I don't know what it was
6 ThrotPos = it wouldn't stream so I don't know if it was 0 at idle
7 Could not set up my Innovate wideband in DSMLink cause i kept getting a "Java" error.
8 I'm not sure about the timing but at idle it reads around 12.

The Java error also came when trying to stream these values as well.

So then I reset all the captured values and just loaded the fuel trims and RPM's. It wouldn't stream!!! So then I closed it down, opened it back up, online the ECU, and then it started streaming. Why did I have to turn the program off and restart?

The car has the global and dead time set for my 850's so that's ok. But all other values are zeroed. I don't even know how to setup my boost sensor with having an AVC-R.

I would like to setup the values I'm supposed to have, and then start really running the car but its just not working for me. The only thing I know is that when I get on the gas, around 15-18psi, the wideband reads around 10 or sometimes 9. I suppose that means I'm lean right?

Somebody please steer me in the right direction. This has to be the worst post for DSMLink ever. Any input is good input.

Erik

After you add new values to be captured you need to restart the program.

10:1 is Rich, the higher the number the leaner you are. Most people tune for around 11:1 at WOT.

ok, so you're fuel is set? go to captured value and click on ltft mid and ltft lo. drive around the highway for 10 min and then idle your car for 5 min. look at ltft mid and lo and make sure that they were within 5 percent of each other.

if you ever want to look at different values, all you have to do is go into ECU > capture values, then select whatever you'd like (i.e., idlesw). Then go into view (i think, i'm doing this by memory) and click on values (I think it's f4 as a shortcut). The option that you just selected should be in the left column. double click it to pus it to the right side, in which dsmlink will now log that value.

click f12 to log. if the value is greyed out, restart dsmlink and begin again.

to start tuning, get your fuel settings in order and keep your timing sliders and fuel sliders at ZERO. click f12 and do a full 3rd gear pull starting from 2k rpms up until your shift point. Now go back and look at your wideband reading. Adjust your fuel slider settings in increments of 2% (and then do another WOT pull) until you get an even 11:1 afr across the board. At this point, and you have no knock, you can choose to up your boost or increase timing. Try both to see what helps you out.

Are you running an unhacked MAF? have you checked for boost leaks? Do not attempt to modify your airflowperrev until you verified that you have no leaks and understand airflow correction a little more.

I know it's tedious, but reading the manual several times helps a lot/
