Quick question about DSMLink.. Is it as good a logger as say a pocketlogger or seperate logging device? I just orderd a link and i'm wondering if I should have really gotten just a logger instead.

Yes it is probably the best thing u can get besides a full stand alone. Thats because its not just a logger like the pocket logger, it also allows u to tune pretty much anything which is the reason everyone likes it. Only drawback is the price and the fact that u need a laptop to run it, but in the long run it will be well worth it to get dsmlink rather than seperate logging and tuning devices.

DSMlink is far superior to any pocketlogger setup out there. Good move in getting the link :thumb:

No way, dsmlink is one of the best. Its a full tuning system with all kinds of features, if you where looking just for a logger you got 10 times more than that now. DSMlink is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually a PALM client version is also available for download. Although it is much easier to tune with a laptop (visibility wise), you can make tuning adjustments with the PALM as well as log with it. DSMLink will log anything that is seen by the ECU, much greater logging capabilities than an ordinary logger. And the price isn't really bad if you consider what you get, even if you have to purchase an EPROM and laptop. I run an old Toshiba 233 P1 160MB with 98SE that I found it on E-Bay for $65 1-1/2 years ago, so it doesn't require much.

But yes, it's the next best thing to a full stand alone out, IMO.

And yes, I'm also a DSMLink whore.

I don't mean to steal the thread, but could someone post a link to where you can get a dsmlink? Also, will it work with a 95 model? I have an OBD1 with both OBD1 & 2 connectors in my car.

A ton of info and downloadable user manual at http://www.dsmlink.com :dsm:

** just to add from the DSM Link FAQ on the site above:

- Can I use DSMLink in my non-turbo DSM?
No. DSMLink is currently only compatible with the turbocharged Eclipses and Talons from '95-'99. We have looked at the non-turbo (Chrysler) ECUs, but have not determined that they are easily reflashable yet. Maybe some day, in the long, distant future, we'll be able to consider that target. It won't be anytime soon, though.

^^ note that 1G Turbos (90-94) are also supported

I got a link, good 50trim, ebay intercooler, 750's, supra tt pump, - all ordered.... and hopefully some 12's in my future.

Yeah I have an Eprom ECU and I'm going to socket it when I get a free minute this week. I have electronics experience. Almost all the 95's are Eprom ECU's from what i've heard.

I would throw a bit of caution about socketing your own board. Electronics experience isn't the same for the 2G board with fine paths and delicate boards. Of course it's your ECU and you know your level of experience....just an FYI.
