So after selling my 520 RWHP LS1 camaro I decided to go boosted again, I just picked up a 96 GST rolling Chasis. Needs the motor and Trans. Ive been looking at the Frankenstien setup from DSM graveyard, as I would like to make about 400 HP reliably without worrying about crank walk and Im not so sure i want to deal with a 6bolt swap. That said I did some searching and couldnt find where anyone has used the Frankenstien. Anybody have any feedback or real world experience with this setup?

Bottome Line after the last 95 gst pain in the ass that I had LOL I just want some thing that will make 400 hp without any major headaches and take it out as a weekend warrior to the track occasionally and use as the nice weather dd. As always thanks for your help.

if you've got the money 1g big rods with the evo pistons and you'll get your whp no problem
even you only do the 1g rods and 2g pistons you can still make 400 whp
crankwalk happends in 2g's but its a very low percentage that gets blow out of proportion
just buy a good crank and you should be set

I have the Frankenstein block. But only have approx. 10 miles since I bought it a few years ago. I ran into some other problems and finally got it running about 2 weeks ago. Just make you specify exactly what you want and get it in writing. I didn't and didn't get what I wanted, I didn't realize it until I was lying under the car with engine already in tact. Turn around time wasn't the greatest either.

It should handle your goals though. I'm hoping for upper 300awhp after breakin.

Trust me time is on my side with this project LOL, Im not rushing it. Plus my camaro Drained me on the finances so this build will be in slow baby steps I just want to have a game plan drawn out first on paper before i go head first into this one. Thanks for the responses guys Im feeling a little more confident about my build plan.

I am in the process of doing a 4g64 frankenstein. I have a 1g eclipse non turbo and i was planning on doing the new engine non turbo as well. ...well i got a 4g64 engine for $250. I got the engine home and come to find out the mounts aren't ecactly the same like i thought it would be. Idk what kinda car it came out of. DSM graveyard told me that i have a 2g block and it would mount into a 2g eclipse no prob. Does anyone know any info on this. Ive been trying to compare blocks online but it just seems that all the blocks look like my 4g63.

Also both are 7 bolts. Thanks for any help.
