this vehicle is a tough lover...just got the front axles swapped out from the abuse the last owner poured on this car...new alternator belt...almost got the idle surge thing worked out...went down the road for a little drive since i forgot what driving this car is like since its been out of action for 2 months and fried my alternator :thumbdown so this is the second time the car has returned to the house under the power of a f250 powerstroke...guess the battery had froze since the temp here has been around 7 degrees for a few weeks and the alternator was doing all the work.

anyone running an optima yellow top? thinking of trying one...and what should i expect to pay for a new alternator?

perhaps on my next little run my car wil return under its own power, that would be a welcomed change

ive got a yellow top -- its ok. Wanst quite as good as i thought it would be
a new alt will prob be 125-200 depending

Ive been using the red top for awhile now. Havent had any problems out of it..Oh and dont forget to check out the timing belt, and balance shaft belt if it still has one. Advance auto is my friend when it comes to alternators. Gotta love the lifetime warranty. :thumb: Ive taken advange of that a few times..LOL
