drop cam signal around 3500 rpms

ok i have a problem with my car i just exploded the timing belt and replaced all parts no problem now it wants to drop the cam signal at about 3500 rpms just like a rev limiter ive replaced the cam sensor and the plug as well with a scanner hooked up it starts and runs fine when i rev it to arround 3500 on the scanner the cam signal turns off ive ohmed the wires and there is continuity through them crank sensor is always on and seems good anyone have a simalar problem all voltages are righht with the spec sheets it seems to cut out about 3500 plugs replaced about 20,000 miles ago any help please

Check the wires that run along the EGR pipe for damage.

^^^ What Locke said...the wires that run near the EGR are constantly exposed to heat and have a tendency to crack or melt...this is a VERY common problem.
