so wait, the beer is called "Vermonster?"

itll get thrown out of court. Hell even if the beer was called something like "Monster Brew" it would get chucked out of the courtroom.

Monster can only go after companies that are called Monster, not with Monster as their product type.

However knowing our ####tarded judicial system, this case will actually see trial. I <3 Monster Java, but would switch to Rockstar Coffee drinks if they succeed. I could see if it was a bigger beer company that had a "Monster" beer, then yeah that makes sense. If Sam Adams makes a beer called "Monster Hopps" then people might see it as a Monster product or collaboration, when this is not so, thus they (monster) would have a case. Some random micro-brewer based out of Vermont with just one product type that is even a made-up word? cmon.

My local brewery has a beer called Monster Brown Ale. Heavy on the malt, brown sugar with a slight chocolate malt finish. Weighs in just shy of 9% abv.
I can only hope I'll be so fortunate to continue to order pitchers at this rate.

it's about keeping huge corporations in line and keeping a small business just that, in business.

They are in line, they are taking it to court on copyright infringement. Monster in not a monopoly, check, they are pursuing legal recourse, check.... how are they out of line?
