drawbacks eliminating water line at oil filter?

Tried to search and must be doing something wrong since I am sure this has been discussed. Since I am not having luck can anyone link me or LMK please.

Since I have everything off the car currently figure now is the time to eliminate or replace the lines if if will cause any issues. Was considering adding a oil cooler in place of the water line as an alternative solution and remove the factory fog light for better air flow.

You could take that housing off and get the ofh set up for external oil cooler
