I would rethink your goals. Not saying you can't do it but there is probably A LOT more involved with a making a dsm especially fwd run those times. Most people don't go from a 14 second car straight to a 8 second car. They gradually get to that point over several years.

Hondas can do it dsm also can also do it..

don't listen to the awd bandwagon people on here.

Agreed. Yea its not as easily attainable as it is for an awd dsm, but it certainly is possible. Just work on those launches.

Dude, what the #### are you talking about. No AWD bandwagon. Dude comes on with a setup that *might* run 12's and want's 9's Of course he's gonna get some static. Hell the second fastest dsm is a FWD.

Honda's are also light as crap.. You can probably get a honda down to 2200 lbs or less. Good luck getting ANY DSM that light.

UNLESS!! Hes talking 1/8 mile. Which then an 8 or 9 second category is definitely do-able.

There is a dsm around 2510 lbs I want to say. One of the drag threads, 1g fwd I believe.

LSD. Cant peg-leg your way to nines. Cage, Ummm $15 to $20,000.

Dude honestly unless you are ready to spend a ton of gwap. I mean a ####ING TON of it LOL! Your goal is a lost cause. If you stay manual be ready to throw 15K+ into the car. Even going FWD auto which would make it easier to reach 9's is still going to take a shit load of money LOL. That's just to go low 10's/high 9's and you mentioned 8's? LOL!! I'm laughing but i'm not laughing at you. Don't be fooled by these forums. It's going to take alot of seat time, skill, and knowledge on top of the parts.

OP, the most helpful advice in this thread is be prepared to invest about $20k into the project, and you will need to acquire a lot of knowledge. Yep, can be done. If you want to then go for it! But if getting to 8's is your ONLY goal, then you have more options. Check out the build threads.

So OP, what is your budget? And do you want to stay FWD? Learning to drive and developing techincal knowledge will be an important part of this process.

I can think of quite a few that weigh close to that, or less even. 1sloevo, phil beers car, english racings big and little auto cars, project goodwill, I'm sure guys like Shep, Gary and a few others are stupid light as well. Sure it takes dedication and money, but he wants to run 8s, he better have those already.

OP, first you need to set realistic goals. This means all your bolt on stuff and see how it runs then you gradually add the upgrades. Not only does it take money to go fast but most important knowledge and that comes with time. Good luck!

It's a long road to 8 seconds on pretty much any platform, you are embarking on a multi year endeavor that consists of as much research as building.

You can have the power, and not be able to get it to the ground.

You can get it to the ground and not be capable as a driver of rowing it down the track.

All the stars can align.. and then you start breaking at the weakest link every time out as you upgrade items and you keep chasing your tail.

Then the inexplicable stuff happens just to f*ck with you.

This is all assuming of course you even have the budget to get capable parts in the first place and dial it all in.

Even then, you will need to constantly tweak the electrical and mechanical ends of your setup. There is a reason why once you get down below 9.99 you start to see people bringing weather stations out with them.

Just remember you are starting with an aging platform that ran high 14's low 15's from the factory and trying to nearly half that ET.

I'll give you one hint though... no way are you going to hit 9s on a T04B V-Trim.

Unless you take a crash diet down to 2000-2100lbs, squeeze every ounce out of that turbo and nail that 60ft

Ok you want 9's? sell all of that and start from scratch.... youll need 1600-2000cc injectors mid 60'smm turbo some sort of full standalone, buitl trans, twin disc, A1000 or bigger pump, its possible im close to finally shaking my car down to do those times but i have literally almost 5 yrs and $15k+ in the car to do so it is no easy task my friend but good luck to you! if its your goal just start working towards it, but id recommend doing alot of research as far as what parts to use and the money its going to take, not to mention the safety equipment
