Drag strip tire selection?

So here is the deal. I recently purchased some drag dr-17's that are 15x7 for the strip. I have been thinking about which tires to purchase and I have a couple of questions. First of all this car will be run mostly at the strip, but will also see some occasional street use as well. My biggest concern is stress on the drivetrain. My transmission is a value built Jacks Transmission. And the rest of my drivetrain parts are stock. I also recently installed brand new (not refurbished) front axles. What tire setup will put less stress on the drivetrain? The options I am choosing from are the M&H racemaster (DOT) P215/65-15, and 225/45ZR15 Hankook Ventus R-S3. Another option is the BFGoodrich g-force sport. It's even cheaper! Links are below.

I know that the M&H's will obviously hook up better but will this put more stress on the drivetrain if I am tring to launch hard? I am hoping for 1.6 60' times. My mod list is also up to date. The only difference will be that I am switching to E85 and around 25psi. Thanks guys!

Your better off with a soft compound side wall slick and I'll tell you why. Soft side walls with take some of the shock on the launch on your drive train ans give you better launchs.

So the M&H will be my best bet? That's what I was thinking but I just want to make sure. I have had a couple people tell me that once I put the slicks on I will start to break drivetrain parts so I just want to be safe.

Thanks for the reply. These are a nice option, but will not have the sidewall flex that the M&H's will provide. I've also heard that radial tires have more of a tendency to spin on our cars, and this is where parts get broken. I understand many people pull off great times on radials. I am just trying to purchase the safest option.

Spinning doesn't break parts. Hooking and wheel hop is what breaks parts.

stay away from the MT et streets.. I ran them last year, there heavy and its like hitting your Tcase with a sledge hammer. I now use Hoosier QTP's, they are 10lbs lighter each then the MT's,

Either the QTP's or the M&H's both great choices. MH prob better for more street driving, either of them wont last long AT all.

I have the QTP's and they are really lite and are an awesome tire! But I have broken two tcases back to back now at the track... I just need to stop trying for 1.4 60fts and just start taking it alittle easier from now on untill I get a built tcase.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will probably be getting the M&H's for sure. Do you think I can pull 1.6's consistently with these tires without breaking my transfer case? I have a value built jacks tranny as well so that should hold up. I should be making around 400 WHP on E85 with around 25 psi or so.
