charlottetown,
So I recently got a good deal on a 2.5-3" RRE cat delete downpipe. I dont really have the money to pick up a catback at the moment but I was wondering If i would see much benefit from just putting on the downpipe and leaving the rest of the stock exhaust on.

Or would it just be pointless because of the restrictive midpipe and muffler?

I am hoping to crack thirteens this summer after the full exhaust is done. The rest of my mods are in my profile. Think I can do it?

I myself would not expect much..your exhaust is only as big as its smallest point. You could though run open down pipw at the track and that would help ALOT. I say pic it up if its a good deal. then hit a muffler shop later down the road and have them finish it off for like 120 bucks. Godluck.

That's not true. Exhaust is just like current running through a wire. The more smaller diameter you have, the worse off you are. I wouldn't expect much gain from just a DP though, as it's a very short distance and the muffler and cat are a huge restriction in the exhaust system.
