Dowel Pins

So after pulling the head on the vr4 I recently picked up (1g head, 2g block), and looking at another picture from a different motor, there are washer looking things over a couple of the head studs that my car does not have. I am assuming that they are the dowel pins for mounting the head in the correct position, right? Do I need them? And if so, where can I pick up a set? Thanks

Yes you need them, and you can pick them up at your local parts store..

have a parts number or anything? Would I need the 1g or the 2g pins, or are they the same thing?

have you looked inside your head/block to see if they have been all the way pressed in?it did that on my wifes kia when i replaced the head and we just had to get creative and tap them out,

If they're pressed in would I need to pull them out, because wouldn't it line it up already?

I just looked at the head, and they are nowhere in sight. I looked online at autozone and I couldn't find anything. Is there a part number for them from mitsu? How many do I need?
