Door lock actuators in '96 GSX

I've been researching all over the forums to find info on the door lock actuators, and every post I came across showed this kind of actuator:

I opened my door up today to find this actuator; it's behind the door frame, so you can't exactly see what you're doing behind there, let alone fit your hands down there. Anybody know how you're supposed to replace this? It was pretty cold outside so I couldn't really stand to stay out there long enough to mess around with it. Not having a garage sucks.

The red door lock actuator in the first picture seems to be an aftermarket actuator.
You will have to replace the hole door unit with the integrated actuator like you see on the second picture. I replaced mine a few years ago, they aren't cheap.

Yep, definately aftermarket.

On the plus side, if you just need a new one, you can hop on eBay and get a new one for a few bucks. Should only take you a minute to swap out.

Yes the OEM lock motor is part of the Latch that holds the door closed. I have Changed mine....its not that hard. There sould be like 3 bolts/screws on the outside of the door jamb where the latch is. Then remove the handle rods that connect to the interior and exterior handle/lock

I have an extra door lock motor and latch off a passenger side door...PM me if you need it.
