Okay, I have been reading and ready, searches after searches and I just have questions and don't want to bring up a dead forum.

I have many problems with my doors. First on the latch the rod that goes up to the exterior door handle is broken from the idiot before and it finally completely broke off. I read that I can't just get the rod I have to get the part.

The part that confused me is that the dealer says latch and the part is called the door lock actuator.

but that leads to my next problem my door locks are power locks. They have gotten so weak they no longer un/lock the doors.

So than I read that I could get aftermarket lock actuators that are better than factory. So that confuses me.

I want to fix my driver side door so I can open it from the outside. (broken rod to exterior door handle)

Fix my power locks to work

Than I want to get a key fob in my car so I can take advantage of power locks maybe even get a remote start if possible.

Please help

Go to a junkyard and find yourself a GS.
Rape the GS of all door/lock mechanism parts.
Install.

Pretty much what he said.

I would go to the yard and grab the parts I need. I changed my lock mechanisms on both sides and changed my broken handles.

Not that hard to do all of this. Just remove the battery when doing this so you don't kill your battery not that you're going to take long ^__^

I got the door handle replaced cause when it broke I ordered a new door handle and when I went to replace it and that's when I seen the rod also broke.

I can't find any eclipse in any pull a part places.

Can you take a pic of what you need? I might have what you're looking for.

I don't have a picture of it. Don't feel like going though all the pain to take it out take a picture and then pit it back in so my door will close.

I can describe it the best I can. It is the main part of the door that keeps the door closed. The latch, it's number 9 in this picture. The rod that broke was the one that went from this to the exterior door handle to open the door.

Now mine is a power lock and I still don't know how to get that fixed.

No Talons either? What about Avengers or Sebrings??

No Talons either but I forgot to look for the Avengers or Sebrings.

Now what about the rest of my problems like the power locks not working and needing to get that fix and if I get an aftermarket kit that also comes with a fob.

I will go in order with your problem.

First, The dealer is right, the latch is called Actuator, so latch and actuator is the same thing.

Second, you can't replace just the arm that is broken, the arm comes with the actuator, If you want to replaced just the arm, you can be able to do so, but you need the arm by it self and the only place you can find it is at the junkyard, You just have to be creative to replace it, I did it on mine, just cut it and weld it back, Note, if your actuator doesn't work, then you will need a new actuator any ways, so why to replace just the arm, go ahead and replace the complete actuator.

Third, There are aftermarket locks, but they will not work with the factory alarm, people use them for cars that doesn't have electric locks, there is no key fab for them, is just a cylinder that pulls and push the actuator arm to lock and unlock, so it is wired to the factory wiring.

Your best option is to get the original actuator, just keep looking at the junkyard or post a WTB.

I just reread your first post, But kind of confusing, sounds that your broken part is the arm that opens the door and not the arm the locks the door, the arm that opens the door is attached to the outside handle, and the arm that locks and unlocks the door is the arm that is attached to the Key cylinder, So saying that, You will not be able to use an aftermarket lock system, which you will end up having the same problem, You will be able to lock and unlock with the aftermarket cylinders but you will still can't open the door because of your broken arm.

Just replace the actuator and you should be OK,

Your car should have the factory alarm, just get a remote and program it to the car and you should be OK.

The rod that is broken is the rod that when you pull open the outside door handle, it pulls up the broken rod. I KNOW that I can't just buy the rod.

I need the latch/Actuator. That is than when I run into the next problem. Both sides (passenger and driver side) the power locks are weak and no longer work. When I bought the car, it didn't come with a key fob. I want to get my doors working properly.

The problem, Driver side needs a factory Actuator.
I am planning on getting this to solve the key fob and everything that is does.
AutoPage C3 RS-665-2W 2-way, 3-Channel Vehicle Security System
I still know that this doesn't solve my power locks and only gives me the key fob.

My car doesn't have an alarm system, so nothing to worry there.

My question again. How do I get my door to open again and get the power locks to work. I don't mind to have aftermarket actuators. But I also need to fine a factory actuator to fix my door correct.

The door handle is fixed stated in the first post the only problem left it the door power locks. Still waiting on a reply.

You seem to know the part you need now order it and install. Seems to be if you get a new door lock actuator you kill two birds with one stone since it doesnt look like any of the other parts have a motor or mechanism in it. Get the one part it should solve all your problems. Now that you mention it my door locks dont open and close either so I might be planning this project soon. If you can post any tips of the actual work i'll appreciate it.

Does anyone have a methos to remove the bolt that hold the door handle itself on, I had to contort my arm, hand and fingers in some crazy angle to get the bolt back in since its hidden up behind the lock cylinder. Or is it possible to install the lock cyliden AFTER the door handle is installed? I tried this but i didnt have the clearance between the glass to do it after. Remove the glass? i dunno.

As already stated but I will say one last time.
I HAVE FIXED THE BROKEN HANDLE. When I put the new one on is when I noticed the on the actuator was broken off.
I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE ACTUATOR. So the driver side power lock now works, but is very weak. Also,.the passenger side power lock still doesn't work.
I NEED TO KNOW IF I CAN USE AFTER MARKET ACTUATORS because stock ones cost way to much.
