I bought an AWD over a year ago and with the help of this forum, I am now ready to make power. I will try and keep this short as much as I can.
This car was originally bought as an ATX, now I dunno if the small turbo and small injectors also apply with the AWD platform as I know that ATX 1g turbo cars differ from the 5-speed in terms of this. 2 months ago, it was then converted into a 5-speed along with a spec clutch and lightened flywheel. Now here's the question:
Do I need a 1g ECU from a 5-speed car and does it necessarily have to be from a AWD?
Next, the car's engine has been rebuilt 8 months after I got it. I followed the tech guide article and pretty much started on replacing parts that I wasn't sure if it was taken care of so the last thing I did was rebuilt the engine. It was pretty much a stock rebuild except for the wiseco 9.0:1 forged pistons and ARP head studs with MLS head gasket. I've already set my goal at this point. Here's the stuff that I got that's going into the car:
- e316g + O2 housing
- evo 8 560cc injectors
- e3 exhaust manifold
- necessary gauges (EGT, boost, A/F and/or wideband O2)
- MBC
- FMIC (still debating which one I should get)
- RRE magnus intake manifold (optional?----need feedback, guys)
And here's the conflict, what is more efficient at this point, getting a MAF-T or going for a S-AFC II with a 2g MAF?
Last, as I said earlier, I've already set my goal, I don't really care at this point at how much HP the car makes to the wheels, I just don't want the hassle of tuning it to the point that I'm gonna get obsessed. So now, a 190 lph fuel pump is going in along with the rewire. Last question:
I don't want to use an AFPR, so is the 190lph good enough not to be tinkered with?
I've spent $900 for the 5-speed conversion and $1500 for the rebuild, as for the bolt-on parts, close to 2k. Not counting the maintenance after getting the car.
