Ok I have bought 2 different logging cables and tried MMcd, (didnt work b/c couldnt get the palm emulator to work), and now TMO software (with same cable and second one but they seem to be identical) and its giving me the error code of no power to logger. Im guessing that the cable is setup different that what the software is trying to read... My question(s) to you are as follows:

1. If its my diagnostic port would I still get error codes with a multimeter? (dumb ? I know but trying to figure this out..its driving me nuts.

2. I am connecting the cable to the diag port on the car using the pin at top left (+) and bottom right (there three but not using the on in the middle). I think the pins are 1 ,12,14 (not sure) If I strip the cable down, what pins on the serial port does the TMO software read.

I have an older laptop ( P2 100mghtrz) with your standard serial port...

Please help me...

does anyone know if I just have to rewire the cable to make it work..or I have seen cables that have a 9volt battery attached...would solve my problem and if so ...how do I wire this?

the pocketlogger cable works fine with tmo

you have to plug the red cable into a 12v spot where another fuse goes (for example, the cigarette lighter fuse port)

on my friends tmo, you have to select different things separately (1 at a time for it to log correctly, for example, pick one, goto the log, screen, pick another, goto the log screen etc) otherwise it will say connection lost or wahtever on the tmo screen.

ok so the red little wire goes to a power source and the two black ones go as instructed with the other programs ? goptcha.. I thank you so much for that info.. I have been asking for a while now and no one has replied
