Does your throttle body elbow burn when you touch it?

Does your throttle body elbow burn when you touch it? After my car has been driven and warmed up to normal operating temperature, I go and touch the throttle body area and burns the hell out of my finger!

Is that normal? I don't think it is and I wonder if its hot on the exterior of the TB I wonder how hot the air is going into the motor!

I am guessing that my intercooler isn't cooling the air..obviously . So should I go then and clean it? What else can I do to cool it.

I would imagine the heat has more to do with the coolant lines going into your throttle body as opposed to your intake charge temps.

Mine is warm to the touch at best, but again, that probably has to do with the fact that I've long since eliminated the FIAV system.

The heat is coming from the cylinder head and the coolant lines going to the throttle body. If you eliminate the FIAV and get a heat barrier intake manifold gasket, it drops the temps a bit.

+1 For heat barrier gasket/spacer.
I recommend the Hondata heatshield.
Damn cheap for what it is too.
