Does this washer belong in my 2g 5 speed awd trans? take a look!

Hey experts,

Just finished rebuilind my trans and have a washer that im not sure belongs in the trans. However to be safe, I would like to ask the tuner knowledgebase.

Take a look and let me know if you think this should be in my transmission or what its from..

I'm 85% sure that does not go on the 5th gear syncro set-up, somewhere internally
maybe but not on the end like that anywhere.

Yup I was right. click on the transmission rebuild section, theres no washer in the 5th gear set-up

Thanks for the input.

I only put the washer there as an example. I looked through the whole VFAQ and couldn't find where this washer could possibly go. I even looked at both 1g and 2g transmission diagrams.

Any other ideas? I don't see how it could go anywhere a shim could go, as its pretty thick.

I just finished my 95 AWD rebuild tonight. I never came across a washer that big during teardown. Strange though, i ended up with an extra washer too, mine looks to be a shim but i dont know where the hell it came from.

There are (no) washers that big in these transmissions! Someone may have used it for a preload shim on one of the bearings?
