Does the length of the bov recirculation matter?

I plumbed my Intercooler piping and wanted to mount the bov as far out of sight as possible in the passenger fender to clean up the engine bay a little. I'm having to use about a 2' hose to discharge back into the intake. What I want to know is will the length of the recirculation hose matter? Will there be any ill effects caused by running a longer hose? Thanks in advance.

As long as the path is nice and straight without kinks, I don't see why it would. Although, I'm sure someone will come up with some over-thought, over complicated reply to this to make things difficult, haha.

Yea, I thought so too but I want to hear some opinions on this. The path is perfectly straight, no kinks. just long as hell. I've seen some non-DSM cars with the discharge running halfway across the engine bay so there shouldn't be a problem, right?

No. Not at all. As long as it doesn't escape the intake track, it doesn't matter how long it is. The only thing that you will noticed is a decrease in sound. Your bov will be more quiet. My return pipe is a bit over 3 feet LOL and with a couple of bends and its all good. Like I said before. You will only noticed a decrease in sound.

The quieter the better to me. I just want it to perform well. I wanted to do something a little different with the bov. It's kinda funny when someone asks me to "pop my hood" and they can't figure out where my bov is and some even argue whether or not I have one.

Cuervo, you say your return is 3' , Where is it located if you don't mind me asking?

Check out the recirc tube on the stock Evo X.

The bov is the one with the blue vacuum line going to it.

Now THAT'S a long recirc tube, meaning you'll be fine.

My bov is located right by the lower part of the main radiator fan. It seems like it could sit right under where the stock coolant reservor is. [I say seems and could because I don't have the stock coolant reservor anymore]. I have a fmic and the bov flange is all the way down there. You can't really see it. You would need to follow the UICP to find it. So I had to use some pipe that I bought at ace hardware. Because UICP gets on the way, I had to use a long pipe to circle around and behind the UICP and to the intake connection. Now that I think about it, it seems like my BOV sits under my k&n filter but further down. So yeah. Its long. Its much more quiet. I can barely hear my type S bov and those are loud even recirculated. I kinda miss that little bov sound though. LOL.
