I am in touch with a guy that has an trans for sale that he claims was rebuilt by IPT, but has no paperwork to prove it. I have been screwed on DSM parts in the past, and am not trying to have it happen again. That being said, does anyone know if IPT stamps or marks the transmissions they build?

I wouldn't trust him then, better yet I would give them a call to ipt they can tell you if they stamp them or not.

I don't trust him, hence my inquiry. If I trusted him, i would have already committed to buying it. I was just curious if any members here that have IPT transmissions have notices and proprietary stampings.

I have apt transmission, but I don't see any marks or stamps . The transmission is out of the car so I did check all over and nothing . Mine came with welded center diff.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks.

You can call them and give them the number on the transmission. They have a database of all transmissions they have built.

well mine had a sticker on it after they did it

You mean serial # on the trans? I have never looked hard for a serial 3 on these things before, just the trans code. I will see if that is a route I can explore.
