no, it will not help heat soak. All it really does is eliminate the flex and poor flow of the stock rubber pipe allowing you to boost slightly faster.

You won't notice a significant power gain.

It'll help with flow, but volumetric efficiency is all about eliminating choke points in the system. If you switch to a larger diameter UICP, it will provide better flow from the IC to the throttle body, but some of that efficiency will be lost since the stock sidemount can only handle so many CFM. The best gains from hard piping are made when it's combined with an FMIC or a larger SMIC that can flow more air.

This of course is also dependent on how much air your turbo can flow.

Like andy said combined with all hard piping and a larger fmic or smic will help flow and you will see the biggest gains. It also helps if you have some sort of heat resistant coating on the pipes which will aide in prevention of heat soaking, but turbo motors produce lots and lots of heat so its really hard to eliminate heat soak completely. Wraping manifolds with exhaust wrap, heat sheilds and a good ventilated hood will keep under hood temps down. A good set of fans will also help as well.

it also depends on the material of the pipeing because some pipes get hotter quicker than others... The cheap ones will get hot faster (like the ebay type pipeing ) Also because its not very thick so it cant absorb as much heat .

its basically like a cold air intake on a na car. it looks better than the rubber or plastic and helps flow better. there arent going to be any huge gains but it looks better and is more durable
